Thanks…to iBC Bloggers of No Content

Previously Rhino had a blog post titled “Lonely“.  I couldn’t help but agree that the recent transition by the men of iBC has a negative affect on my views of blog posts.  I personally can understand the the transition made by iBC crew to the current format.  I personally like it as it filters out nonsense.  I remember back when @chessNwine had a post about the iBC Blogger Network and challenged traders to bring it.  Well what can I say…some brought it.  Unfortunately most of the posts were filled with irrelevant and sometimes stupid posts stating “long this or that”.  All I can say is  who fucking cares!  Now it reciprocates the blog post if you say long this/that BECAUSE of this/that.  Needless to say back up your post with rhyme or reason and just don’t post haphazardly.

I believe the men of iBC were on to something awesome by creating the Blogger Network or formerly the Peanut Gallery.  The Fly and Admin let us in by letting our blog posts be featured on the front page.  Needless to say this is a big deal as it created reader-ship as iBC is highly read by many.  Unfortunately we bloggers (with the exception of few) let the iBC crew down and fed the stream with irrelevant crap.  I personally cannot argue with the stance taken by iBC crew and even respect them as they show that they are serious about content and will not any ill-minded pleb post anything bringing shame to iBC.  I know if I built something and it was littered with crap I would have cut it long before current actions.

If you are posting content, please bring content.  That is all that is asked.  Don’t use the site as a hub for views.  This is a hard business just in trading alone but when trying to convey your thoughts it is even harder.  I have never seen site views like I have since posting to the iBC Blogger Network.  When I see a drop in views I don’t take it personally but see it as a chance that someone didn’t have to read a post and maybe pick something up.  Do I mean this personally…NO!  There are other bloggers such as Rhino, zenhunter, elizamae, Affluenzairus, etc. that post original content and not just unfiltered crap or rehashed news bits.

All I say is that we as pleb bloggers need to prove that we have content.  I am quite certain that the tabbed iBC bloggers just didn’t come into the trading realm and iBC with some posts and expect to be tabbed.  They conveyed their thoughts and analysis that proved to be of content and earned their way into the respected halls of iBC (probably years at that). All I can say is that don’t saturate iBC with bullshit, but bring it.  I know personally I lack at times in content but at the same time I put time into my posts thinking at least one person may be able to pick something up.

Needless to say, lets we as bloggers prove that we have more to bring than we have in the past.  Bring content with posts and create an exponential respect to iBC that is in motion.

  1. Get over yourself.

I do, however, foresee a future “hybrid” update; there, perhaps, Blogger Network could be streamlined with the Tabbed Blogger Staff.

Possibly a bifurcated main page, -OR- a radio click (like the) “+” for the world-board atop the page (could display Blogger Network).

This change would enhance user interface with an “include/exclude” contributor content.

Personally, my vote’s for the change.

With respectful disagreement; but of course.

  2. Get over myself in what way? All I’m saying is for bloggers to bring content or something worth reading as I have clicked on several posts leaving myself asking WTF as a far as a blog post comparing to those tabbed iBC bloggers. Like I stated too, I know I can bring more quality instead of quantity but it’s a work in progress.

I do like your idea of the “+” feature and would be a good feature to implement.

Thanks for posting this. The Blogger Network is a very important cog in the iBC wheel. However, it was muddying the waters.

    I had two choices.

    1. Fire 90% of bloggers in blogger network and make people feel like shit.

    2. Move BN into a more supportive role.

I view the BN as the minor leagues for IBC blogs, not because you guys are lesser investors, but less experience bloggers.

There will come a time when I pluck one or two out to join the roster. Most of the tabbed bloggers started in the Peanut Gallery aka Blogger network.

    • Thanks Fly and I agree. I liked the Blogger Network as I saw it as a community of traders and not-so experienced bloggers like myself that tried to bring content from different angles and fine tune their style. Unfortunately on some of the posts I clicked I felt like I wasted 30 seconds of my time reading it. All I wanted was some content or insight that maybe I could learn from. I know I am not where I want to be in trading performance so different opinions & insight was welcome.

I saw the Blogger Network as an opportunity for some to be featured on a site of traffic, only to be taken advantage of and littered; so I respect your decision.

Thanks for keeping the Blogger Network yes I agree in that it is the minor leagues as I know I am new to blogging and there is a difference in writing and trading. I have found that combining the two takes experience as great content can be boring but a great blogger can keep the attention of the reader.

That’s great to know that most tabbed bloggers began in the PG as I am quite certain they deserved their current status and nothing is given.

  4. It was fun while it lasted

    • Haha yeah Research Donkey it sure was but keep bringing your research as I have always enjoyed some of the articles that were not so public or I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

  5. We used to hold elections to elect tabbed bloggers.

Check ibcrc or ibankcoin YouTube accounts for promo videos we did for contestants.

Maybe we will hold another election.

  6. Nice post. I agree (and have stated as much elsewhere) with much of what you say here.

Also, I am honored to keep getting lumped into these posts as a meaningful contributor to the BN, so thanks for that…though my work, of late, is not really deserving of inclusion.

    • Thanks EM, I must have missed your previous post or can’t recall it anyway but thanks for your opinion as well.

I know I probably forgot some folks and I apologize to them as I was just going off the top of my head of contributors whose posts I usual read when I see a new one. I have enjoyed reading your posts as you have content to them. We all have different things going on in life and with other jobs and family there definitely is times where there is not enough time during the day, thanks for sharing what you have.

  7. This was the best part:

All I can say is  who fucking cares!

    • Thanks, I have no problem with posting positions as long or short but when the post is one sentence that makes no sense to me. I like when there is a reason as to why or what the person saw. Or even add a story or something to make the post interesting and worth reading.
