Late Night Strategy for Monday

8hhRHmx

Earnings are coming up this Tuesday morning for Walgreen Company, seen below on the daily chart, but barring an explosive move after the report I would keep this one on watch as a short setup to break below the highlighted descending triangle pattern underneath all major moving averages.

And on the long side, keep an eye on FB TKMR TWTR for further strength as triggers.

Drop me your top tickers overnight.

I think you’re making a mistake re: WAG. It’s opening several “concept” stores and has already had a big hit with the ones in S.F. Furthermore, it’s an indirect play on the healthcare industry due to its pharmacy departments. And it’s got a 2% dividend to keep it steady.

At the same time, Cramer likes it, so it’s probably doomed. Sigh.

Personally, I can’t wait to get into October/November. The earnings picture will get more clear, and the HK/Shanghai link should finally provided a much-needed boost to Asian markets.

San Francisco is a concept. Good luck linking it to anywhere. But you never know.

Gold and treasuries are worth a look. Hong Kong is a boost for treasuries – got to think that this is short term, but if it’s not, then we live in even more interesting times than before. I lived in HK for three years, but I’ve got no “feel” for the latest developments and how things might play out. Gold speculation is affordable.
