I first suggested the French energy giant Total as a long-term investing idea back in June 2012 in this blog post.
At the time, the stock was trading at $43.83. I would periodically update the idea, but stressed how disappointed I was at how lackadaisical the stock seemed to be moving compared to some of my better investment ideas.
However, with the recent surge in energy stocks the stock now sits at $65.98 as the stock closes in on its 2010 highs.
If you bought the blood here during the European crises I think you can take a chunk of the position off here and enjoy your gains into this potential energy rotation, at least until whether we see if it is for real.
