I have been too early premature wrong in looking for the large biotechs to snap back the other way for a while now, as the rubber band took it to the limit one stretched week higher after the next.
Last week’s “shooting star” candlestick on the weekly chart for the IBB sector ETF (after a prior, steep, and established uptrend, up through the weekly chart upper Bollinger Band) will shed light on just how unique and powerful this uptrend truly is. The shooting star, of course, requires downside confirmation in order to consider it a bearish reversal candlestick.
But a rotation away from large biotechs and into the industrial/material/energy global complex seems as though it is at least being probed by the tape today.
