The 3D Bull Market Continues: Pokémon X and Pokémon Y

via The Independent in the UK:

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have confirmed the next generation of Pokemon videogames,Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, will launch in October for the Nintendo 3DS. The existence of the two games which will share the same plot but contain unique (but tradeable) Pokemon was earlier announced by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata via Nintendo Direct.

Pokemon X and Y are set to feature new pokemon, a new storyline and ‘dynamic’ battles; though perhaps of most interest to fans is that the Pokemon world has been redesigned in 3D – a first for the franchise. As you well suspect the titles will also be accompanied by an array of new cartoons and toys.

Now, Nintendo is an ADR which trades on the illiquid Pink Sheets in America. So, I am not going to bother charting that stock.

However, keep in mind the 3D theme looks like it is not going away anytime soon. The main 3D printing stocks, DDD and SSYS, continue to work through powerful (albeit volatile) uptrends.

Also keep in mind that the most obvious 3D play for movies, IMAX, is just now trying to pop out of a long, weekly consolidation. Note that buy volume this week is already surging.
