The Confrontation – 3 Male Lions versus 300 Cape Buffalo

Now this is a chess match…

A long and ferocious battle between 3 male Lions and a herd of about 300 Cape Buffalo. The Lions have taken down a calf, then need to defend it as the Buffalo try to drive off the Lions and save the calf. Control of the calf changes back and forth 11 times. The entire episode lasted over 1/2 hour. (YouTube)

    Spectacular. Was in Zambia and Botswana 2 yrs ago. Was well worth the rather large tab. Mrs. Muk even wants to go next time. Something about Sundowners at dusk. Africa truly does give one a sense of how small humans are in the whole scheme.
