ChessN, that one chart you posted, with that day-glo magenta straight line looking like it originated from the Big Bang, from pre-2007… highlighting the 2300 level on the Shanghai Composite.
On the black background of an FSC chart, that magenta line burned your point into my mind, as you can see from the above.
So it might interest you and your readers that when last I checked my Yahoo delayed chart of the Shanghai Composite I noted that the low of the day there, so far, was exactly 2300.
Again? YES, again, same as it ever was.
