Saturday Night at Chess Cinemas

Although I usually reserve my Saturday night selection for films, I want to point out quality television as well. Quantum Leap is a series than ran on NBC for five seasons, from 1989 through 1993. Starring Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, the show has a great setup for an original episode each time, with Bakula playing a scientist traveling through time as different people. Despite the fact that I am not a huge fan of science fiction, this show really is that good, to the point where you should definitely check it out.

From IMDB.com:

Doctor Sam Beckett led a group of top scientists into the desert to research his theory that a man could time travel within his own lifetime. Unfortunately, in order to save his funding, he was forced to enter the accelerator prematurely and vanished. He then found himself in someone else’s body with partial amnesia. His only contact from home is Al, a holographic image only he can see and hear. Setting right things which once went wrong, Sam leaps from life to life, hoping each time that this is the final leap home.

Being only 8 at the time I am certain I never saw this show.
However, ‘Life’ (1999) was a great movie of the 90′s.

Homeland on Showtime is one of very few shows even worth watching these days. I used to love watching Quantum Leap though….nice pick.
