Much like my previous post about pin action setups in the biotech space, the education sector may be poised to move along with APOL‘s strong earnings reaction last Friday. My top idea in the group is LOPE, though DeVry has room to run if the bulls can get some momentum going in this long-term laggard of an industry.

Devry, take a look at Oct./Nov.’s gap down.
Now imagine being on the wrong side of earnings.

It based right under the gap in an orderly manner and broke into it on strong buy volume, which I consider bullish. It is not always “what” a stock does, but how it does it that matters most.

I like that LOPE call. We’ve been doing a lot of work in this space (disclosure, not w. LOPE), and as long as the gummint stays out of these players’ grill, they are going to continue to be the wave of the future.
