Welcome to the iBC Championship

Thie looks to be a great matchup between one of the world’s largest banks, Bank of America Corporation [[BAC]] & an IT company that provides services & solutions to the United States defense and federal civilian government agencies, Stanley, Inc. [[SXE]] .

A big congratulations to JakeGint and Popimp for making it to the Final Four, but only the strong survive. So my hat go off to SC & mrKCbill for making it to the big game.

Here is an update to on the brackets, and for fun, I added the total % Gainers of all the picks since the inception of the tournament. It looks like Gunners would have won if  the contest was based on the highest % gainer, with his pick in Callon Petroleum Company [[CPE]], up over a cool 75% .

Should be a fun week.

Wow the Championship! I want to thank all the fans that have been pulling for me throughout the tourny. Now that I think of it, I don’t think I really have any. Well then screw all you haters that I’m here and your not! LOL. This tourney is about fun and I want to again thank RC for putting this together. It has been fun, but I have also learned from it too. Like all, I saw RC’s post to get their picks in. I remember reading “sign ups start at 9:00 (or some time on the hour can’t remember)”. I though “oh shit I need to get my pick in before it fills up!” So how is a person supposed to pull a respectable pick out of their ass fast!?!?!

I have no problem admitting that I am not an “Original Stock Thinker”. I don’t posses mad stock “skills”. What I do have is the PPT. I am new to the PPT this year (member since first of the year). Upon reading RC’s post I immediately went and started looking for stocks with a Fundamental score under 5, Hybrid over 2.5, and a Technical under 1.5. This allowed me to find solid companies that have been sold off for some reason or another. I then started scanning the charts of companies, from the top down, looking for charts that looked good (not choppy, low volume, you know a crap chart when you see it) and RSI’s below 30. When one looked good I went and read why the stock had been sold off.
At the time of my pick SXE had Fundamental = 4.25, Technical 1.23, and Hybrid = 2.53.
I didn’t find any “Red Flags” for SXE. Red Flags = Stock split, directors selling shares, bad earnings, etc.. etc…you know the usual “Corporate Stock Market Fuckery “ . I just wanted to find a stock that had better than average odds of rebounding and maybe making it a few rounds. Sure there is luck here, but such is the stock market sometimes.

So there you have it. All this was done in about 45 minutes. For all of you reading and not knowing what “Fundamental score under 5, Hybrid over 2.5, and a Technical under 1.5” it because you are not a member of the PPT. I have the tools and the PPT community to help me with my “Non-Original Stock Thinker” skills.

I do find it funny that SXE has government contracts and BAC has, well you know, government “help”.

note – I had never heard of SXE before scanning.

I got an even better story for how a wound up with WEMU. Hpuma has it for his “Stock of the Year” pick. When this tournament rolled around WEMU had been down the murder hole since the first of the year. Figured it was due to go up at some point. That’s all there was to it. Nothing more, nothing less.

We had an epic duel with RC’s RIMM in the first round then hit our stride. Cold smoked some fools the next two rounds before running into the Sexy SXE buzzsaw. I think my squad started reading too many of their press clippings and got dazzled by the bright lights of the Final Four.

If I had been fortunate enough to win, I was going to donate whatever prize (if any) to Hpuma. I wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of dealing with Thailand’s customs authorities anyway.

Still, it was great fun and I look forward to next year. I know there are going to be new rules to prevent the likes of WEMU making it in, but that’s OK. I’ll find some loophole to sneak in a borderline craptastic piece of garbage just to piss off Jake.

Thanks for putting this on RC and sorry that we had to punk you in the first round 🙂

      One last time…
      We are (clap clap) WEMU!!!

Well done SC.. SXE sitting right on support today. I hope I don’t jinx you SC, but after looking at SXE’s chart I am considering getting long with a stop below 28..

and I my head handed to me banking on Google resolving their Chinese problem and/or a market correction … would never have shorted it in real life as this is a “long only” market. (???)
