The Fly Kicks Off The Contest Early

Slow down with your picks! The contest begins Sunday night. However, If you are a member of The PPT or write for iBC I will except picks early.

As of now, I have the champion Market Monk down for [[LIWA]] & The Fly down for SandRidge Energy Inc. [[SD]] . That’s it.

A post will be going up shorty inside The PPT, so feel free to submit your pick early. Otherwise, wait for the offical post Sunday night.

Here are the rules again. Limit 100 entries, new price criteria will be over $5, no duplicate picks, and the price will start at the closing price of 12/31/09.

    $5 this year? The two previous years the minimum was $10.

    It was my intention to have my pick done prior to the contest start so as to have my pick well known and out of the way (since you give the contest winner the right to the 1st pick).

    During our conversations over the last week or so I don’t believe you mentioned a change in the minimum price so I was under the assumption it was still $10. No problem though, I may change my pick (but only if it has not been chosen by someone else).

    Thanks for sponsoring this contest. So much can happen in a year especially in these turbulent times. IMHO 2010 is going to be a wild one with many different themes that can take center stage. Choosing a stock that will rocket in this environment is extremely difficult.

    Congrats on your pick last year Monk. And the year before. 🙂 Hope you made some coin for yourself!! You wanna give us some sort of background on what you like LIWA? Looks like an interesting pick.

    I will divulge my stock selection process for this year after the contest closes for submitting new picks. I will say that there are a ton of great picks in the $5 to $10 range in the various themes I feel could do well in 2010.
