I added more HCLP for $39.55. Do I need to explain myself?
Cash stands at 13%.
HCLP and BAS have surpassed CCJ as my largest position. Those three now account for just under 60% of my book.
Rebalancing will probably come soon, but not right now. HCLP is going to punch through brick walls first.

great timing, I am right along there with you
I too added to HCLP yesterday and was rewarded today. Thanks for the heads up on this stock. Long also PBA for a Candian oil play with monthly dividends.
Any thoughts on AEC earnings?
The company is either on the cusp of getting bought out, or sending large special dividends to shareholders.
The payout is coming soon.
Thanks for the feedback.
By the way, have you looked at Sanchez Energy Corp (SN)? Crazy growth numbers and a mix of shale oil and natural gas, mostly out of the eagle ford shale. Revenue growth over 300% (seriously) for the last 3 years and off the highs after a recent dip.
Seems like it would be right up your alley.
Thanks for the tip.
I’ve decided to pass. I’m well invested and they remain priced out of my comfort zone.
Cheers
Is it really so expensive though? Agree that PE is crazy, but on other metrics, it seems in line with some of the other natty gas plays:
Forward PE
NS: 20
HCLP: 16
BAS: 89
Price/Sales
NS: 4.5
HCLP: 9.5
BAS: 1.0
Price/Book
NS: 1.7
HCLP: 18
BAS: 7
Not that I am trying to twist your arm to buy; more interested than anything. You have been deeply invovled in this space for a while, so appreciate any insight that you can provide.
Thanks
No problem at all.
For HCLP, I see the events that will fuel the necessary growth to drive the company for a decade or more. So it doesn’t make sense for me to sell, because I think we’re on the cusp of 60 months of expectation blow outs.
For BAS, I’m reading between the lines and see that the “real” metrics are actually much better than the “calculated” metrics. If you add a few “surprise” gains I see coming, BAS’ ratios all come in substantially.
With NS, I see a company that has performed exquisitely and is fairly priced to that end, but probably doesn’t haven’t much room for surprises to the upside. I also see BAS peeking at me from the shadows of NS, and I already own that.
That’s actually very helpful. Thanks for the insight.
