countries with shared currencies bear an unbelievable burden and only if the sharing of the currency gives them an advantage in exporting, and only if they have a significant trade surplus do they stand any real chance… unless some mechanism of creating and distributing currency is created. The European system has no ability to create any new Euro’s and therefore no ability for the users of the Euro to net save. Even the gold standard had this.
All they can do is leverage debt as far as they can, and then blow up. We have reached the “as far as they can” point. Stopping the blow up is really a simple matter, but Germany stands in the way.
The best possible solution is probably Germany exiting and leaving the rest to stay…
Germany exits and the euro becomes the lira, post haste.
