High Tight Flag Watchlist

This is my current High Tight Flag watchlist. In my opinion, these are some very sweet setups.

I always thought HTF needed to “pulse” or bounce back and forth; creating multiple distinct resistance and support.

Something like CT and GENE but not so much GTXI

These look like they are getting better though

According to Bulkowski, they only need to make a low. This allows us to measure the range between the high and the low. Once they make that low, Bulkowski recommends the range be less than ~30%. I’m actually allowing a slightly larger range. Anyway, my understanding is if the range is less than 30%, and the stock makes a new higher-high, then it is a valid breakout.

I looked at these charts you categorize as Hight Tight Flag patterns. If you are using the O’Neil definition they are not H-T-Fs. $VRUS was in April, but was not able to sustain the breakout. The other 3 are not. The pullback in $CT is more than the max. of 20% and the advances of $GTXI & $GENE far exceeded 100%. Based on my work and trades over the years I have modified my definition to consider stocks with gains of 80-120% in less than 8 weeks. Of course, you may have your own interpretation of the pattern. Just an observation.

      I’m using Bulkowski’s criteria.
In the end, I will likely adjust the code until it incorporates elements of both O’Neil’s and Bulkowski’s definitions.

Even though it took slightly longer than 10 weeks to form the “pole” part of the pattern (to double in price), don’t overlook IPGP as it is on the verge of a breakout of the “flag”.
