Isa’s Hats

Okay, so it is a little weird letting you people in on some the more personal aspects of my existence, but in this case, I think it is worth it.

So…my wife’s childhood friend has a daughter (Isa Rose) who was very recently diagnosed with Leukemia. As we have small children, and for other obvious reasons, my wife was emotionally moved by her friend’s struggle. She decided to handle her emotions by trying to help the family in any way possible. As my wife has a small buisness designing and making boutique children’s clothing and toys, she decided she would make children’s hats for the cause and give all of the proceeds to her friend.

On my wife’s blog,  Ooh Baby! you can read more about the little girl’s family as well as order a hat to help them through this terrible battle.

Isa Rose’s mom is also blogging through the journey. On her blog you can find updates on her daughter’s treatments: Isa Rose’s Blog

Thank you for considering this family.

Thank you very very much Fly.

Should a cool hat not suit your fancy, there is a paypal link directly to the family on Isa’s blog.

I will definitely check out your links, so sorry to hear about this. It was kind of you to share this with us, and not weird at all. You know I can relate, wish I could make it easier for any parent with a sick kid, it’s such a hard road.

Thank you Fly. I recently found out that the treatments will last about 3 years. They must relocate, get new jobs, uproot thier other daughter, etc.

If, god forbid, this happened to us all I would want to do is curl up with my babies and spend every possible moment smelling thier sweet little heads. I would not want to be worrying about expenses. I want her to be able to smell thier sweet little heads.

Thanks so much for your concern.

    Wood,

This most tragic. Thankfully, it sounds like this family is getting a lot of love and support from family and friends like you and your wife.

(I deleted my post so this one could stay at the top of the list. I’ll refrain from posting until sometime tomorrow)

Shed – I’m sorry to hear this, but your wife’s generosity is heart warming.

I interact with a lot of family-oriented bloggers via work. I will notify my partners of your wife’s plans. My wife is linking to it as well.

I will pray for Isa Rose’s recovery and strength for her family.

Sad to hear that Shed and Mrs. Woodshedder. You just got to be there for them, get her and her parents mind occupied with positive things for now. keep hoping and be real at the same time. 3 members in my family survived cancer… grandmother, mother (thyroid) and oldest sister (breast). crushes you to see them in pain, you just want to take it from them and bear it for them. totally sux. but stay strong and pray together.

My younger brother died from cancer 7 years ago at 18. I can’t begin to tell of the emotional & financial stress this situations cause. Service like WoodShedders went a long way for my family. I’m always glad to help when others encounter these hardships

All of you are so kind. Isa’s mama is so taken by your kindness and generosity. Plus all the good vibes and prayers are creating some kind of snowball effect.

Remember – if the genie appears, wish for an infusion of generosity, compassion, and curiosity. That should take care of most of the problems.

Thank you all so very much.

It’s a good thing you’re doing, Wood. I think my niece needs a new hat.
