Vivo Participacoes S.A., through its subsidiaries, provides cellular telecommunications services in Brazil.
Open Text Corporation develops, markets, sells, and supports Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions.
Banco Itau Holding Financeira S.A., together with its subsidiaries, provides various retail and corporate banking services to individuals, small and middle-market companies, and large corporations primarily in southeast Brazil.
Of the three the only one that looks good to me would be [[VIV]].
I know I said that I think Brazil is good for investment but los bancos everywhere look unhealthy.
Andy have you seen the kind of swings the Bovespa has?
Folks get twitchy over a 2% drop, I’ve seen the Bovespa do much worse.
My name’s not Andy…
I have not see the swings the Bovespa has. I’ll have to pull it up.
I like OTEX and VIV. I believe IBD is still pumping it.
I had too many windows open.
Here you go with the Bovespa

Look at the swing in Jan 2008 and put it as an overlay against the dji
Cuervo, how about a 10,000 point swing? That’s nice…
Chart looks great though, now.
Woodshedder,
I imagine you are looking at the weekly $SPXA50R Chart. It’s up to 78.16 as of yesterday’s close. The horizontal line at 85 pinpoints all of the tops going back to 2005. I’m hoping the market keeps going full steam ahead and quickly gets to 85 — then we can really back up the truck!
Fly,
Your understanding of the banks is so poor, they should confiscate your cheque-book…
Blocking me from making comments…
Mummy, mummy, nasty duc is bullying me…
Pah.
Fly,
Master & Commander…don’t flatter yourself, more like “Disaster & dismember” which is a neat summary of your ongoing debacle currently.
You display some insight into your pavlovian, conditioned psychology here;
“Basically, I don’t have the slightest clue, regarding the near term direction of the market. I’m just trying to be in as many plays as possible, taking gains where I can.”
The silent scream of the drowning.
pah.
Have any other Brazil plays? Brazil is smoking hot since that upgrade thing on govt debt.
Boomer, I always liked RIO (Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ADS), and wish I had held onto my shares, as usual I sold too soon.
from Bloomberg, RIO produces and sells iron ore, pellets, manganese, alloys, gold, nickel, copper, kaolin, bauxite, alumina, aluminium, and potash. The Company is based in Brazil, where it owns and operates railroads and maritime terminals.
Boomer, I believe SID is a Brazil name. Great chart…
