Get Drunk Buy Euros (and Eurobooze)

drunk

________________________________

Glory Be! The Greeks have been saved with promises of free money from Eurotardish German bankers bearing multicolored sheafs of kroner, guilder, drachma and Japanese bearer bonds.   Let’s get drunk on Grappa, Stroppa and Babaganoosh, and dance the hairy mazurka with dark eyed beauties until dawn.

That means all of my gold and silver picks are going to go skyward, at least temporarily, as the dollar is shrinking back to it’s old status as the emaciated mummy of the sovereign currency world.   I will have some junior players to look at for at least a short term pop below, but first, let’s talk about what the strong Euro will do to drunken Eastern Europeans.

For one thing, I think it will get Eastern European “wodka” distributors Central European Distribution [[CEDC]] moving even further than this pop last Friday showed:

cedcwk

I’m not going to post the daily, but set it for one year and look at that saucer breakout if you want to see something appetizing.   I think the $43 short term gap fill is a nice target, but I think this baby is going back north to its old highs just as sure as they crave fermented potato juice in Minsk.   Grab and hold.

I’ve been away a couple of days, the precious is going to go cardiac and I owe you, so here’s a couple of small-cappers that I think will move something nice this week.   First the gold play, then the silver.

The gold junior is [[BAA]] which has been a laggard, but I think “not for long.”  Here’s the play:

baaweekly

Yep, that’s the “turtlehead” above the long term downtrend that I look for.   Check the daily now to see “whut-whut” on that downtrend break:

baadaily

Yeah, that’s a turn for the better.  The same can be said, I think,  for my little silver friend [[EXK]] which I think is ready to really get with the rest of the beautiful silver peoples:

exkweek

That’s a long termer, in my humble, but you can see where the short term targets will live while the dollar drops.  Keep an eye on [[UUP]] as your guide, but you should get at least a couple of days of dip out of all the Euroshort trading.

Poor bastids.

Best to you all.

Euros are going down, son. But, deep down, you already knew that.

I don’t know about “must own” but it’s a junior that’s lagged, and is now picking up.

          Call it a timing issue.

    Hmmm ….

“Let’s say our imaginary investor decided not to sell the DOW at 14,198 for 19 ounces of Gold in Oct07 and waited. That’s when the Supercycle wave two bear market began to unfold. Then at the exact bear market low of DOW 6,470 in Mar09, only 17 months later, our imaginary investor panicked and sold the DOW for Gold. With the DOW at 6,470 and Gold then at $928/oz. our imaginary investor would have received barely 7 ounces of Gold. A loss of 63% in real dollars in just 17 months! In nominal terms the DOW dropped from 14,198 to 6,470 for a loss of 54%. Notice how closely the nominal price compares to the real price in the short term, and how there is an almost meaningless comparison in the long term. The difference between nominal prices and real prices over the long term is caused by the continuous devaluation of a fiat currency through debasement and inflation. Keep this in mind as Supercycle wave three unfolds over the next several decades.”

Oops … Lost the first paragraph on that post. Here is the preceding example to the above:

“At the 1932 stock market low the price of Gold was $20.67/oz, and at the 2007 stock market high Gold was $745/oz. At the 1932 low it cost almost exactly two ounces of Gold to buy the DOW: $20.67/oz at DOW 41. Then in 2007 if one would have sold the DOW at 14,198 they would have received nearly exactly 19 ounces of Gold. While the DOW appreciated in nominal terms from 41 to 14,198 during that 75 years. In real terms, real dollars, the DOW went from 2 ounces of Gold in 1932 to 19 ounces of Gold in 2007 for an actual gain of 850%. As you can see over the bullish multi-decade time span of a Supercycle wave nominal stock prices can be very misleading. Over the short term of months and years their impact is far more significant. “

Since my last moniker was egregiously stolen by an impostor (yossarian part duex) i’m changing it so there’s no confusion. And this seemed appropriate.

#3 just landed in so. fla so let’s hope the jacksons keep going up because you know he’s not ordering the 2 buck chuck down there…

Nope, you must have some kind of anti-bad word software or something, as there are a couple of bad words salted in there, in the Irish lilt.

I added NXG today. It is a laggard, too. Crap, I just hope it was the right laggard to add.

I am loving SVM, and EXG.

I hate BAA, I lost so much money on them. I don’t even want to see that name again.

Hey, Jake, I would be very interested in what your thoughts are on C, going forward. I am in the green and doing good now, but just can’t decide if I should keep or should sell and invest in something more PM’ish, like FRG, which I would really like to buy, if it ever pulls back.

    What do you think?

C looks pretty good here. The banks are reflating until the next meltdown. I’d hold it until then.

I’ve got BBT, HBAN, FITB, and PCBC.

I have been taking care of a little two year old girl, whose grandmother is a heroin addict (my cousin), and whose dad has broken her mothers arm and abused both of them terribly. The creep is in jail, and the very young mom is seven months pregnant with a baby boy.

I am hoping to take care of the newborn, too, as well.

I have to tell you this little girl, Jada, has completely stolen my heart. I heard the lyrics to this song, and thought of my beautiful little Jada. In the mornings, after she arrives, and realizes she is safe, she is the happiest, sweetest creature you can ever imagine. It takes awhile, and it has taken many weeks to get here, but I think she trusts me now.

Part of these lyrics just describes her to a tee ~~ ” There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever”

You had talked of caring about older people…

If you get a chance to care for any of these precious kids, do so. I have never felt so much love as I do now.

Honorable work Chanci, you’ll be blessed for it! My wife & I have been considering emergency foster care for at risk children and newborns, but recently found out we’re expecting our 4th child (no twins this 3rd time around). I’ve been away from trading & commenting while getting ready to sell our home (time for another bedroom). Foster care will be on hold for a while. Sorry to change subjects Jake, but just wanted to encourage Chanci for loving on those kids!
