– Doing a weird play on healthcare selling AMED and throwing it into one stock, ANCI. Waiting for the relief rally.
We chilled at HollyHood last night till late. I can’t believe this was the first time I’ve been there. Reminded me a lot of Times Square, but slower and more laid back. The street performers weren’t that great, but shopping there was pretty good (the workers AND customers in Victoria’s Secret were very helpful to me and my buddies). The food in the area is pretty good too. We checked out this place called uWink and they have this interesting concept… touchscreen menus. It’s pretty sick. You can play games and stuff with your friends on a computer at your table. Basically, you replace an angry unhelpful waitress with a robot that gets you what you want. Do we tip? Well, we didn’t really actually eat there, but I’ll have to try it one day.
Where we did eat was Pinks. All I can say is daaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyymmmmmmmmmmmmmm. The line was quite long. Maybe about 80 people or more. Stood in line for about 45 minutes for a hotdog, and finally got our dogs after 11pm. But the novelty was worth the wait.
One last thing… Universal studios and Hollywood was very very empty. I kind of like it like that, but I guess you can feel the economic squeeze a little. Oh yeah, and everyone everywhere was wearing Laker jerseys. Hellzyeah.

I feel like a fool, like some old lady or something… Yesterday we went shopping on the 3rd Street Promenade (first time I been there) and I was taking pictures with this new waterproof camcorder/camera I bought (don’t ask why I got it waterproof). It turns out I wasn’t taking any pictures. Lol. I swear I heard a beeping noise. I just got owned by a camera.
Culver City after 7 is a nice place to chill. Make sure you try the gelato at Ugo Cafe..

Yeah, call me crazy. Anyway I’m now in the city of angels, recovering from eating a massive meal from In-N-Out Burgers last night. Man those are some good burgers! I haven’t ate here in 9 years.
I realize I haven’t been to California since 2000. Time sure does fly! Oh, btw, I didn’t know consumer tax was 9.25% here. That’s ludicrous. I mean, how in the world are you broke California?

Completely covered shorts: SOL +17.60% @ 6.23 (short at 7.30)
New longs: LINC (16.95), CBOU (5.64)
Notes:
– Market down -200 points
– VIX at 30.93. Once again, VIX <30 provided strong exit point for partial profits, and entry point for shorts.
– Buying the coffee dip here like a mad man (CBOU), and taking advantage of school’s relative strength (LINC).
– Shorts are on fire, but seeing how fast my solar shorts have dropped in the past three days, it’s time to take profits. Still holding YGE shorts.
– Heading to Los Angeles in about 3 hours (sheesh) for the Laker party! 😉
