The financials continue to be green today, while the small caps are noticeably lagging, down nearly 1% as I write this.
There’s a lot of talk about where the selling/attacks on the market is coming from, namely capital gains tax selling before the rates go up next year. That remains to be seen, but for now we are stuck with a market that is coiled for a big move one way or the other.
Regarding financials, $15.10/$15.20 was a big breakout level for the XLF sector ETF in September. Price has circled back to it, and bulls sure need it to hold now in all likelihood.
