First, I got you all addicted to $1 stocks. You guys are HOOKED. Denial won’t get you anywhere and there is no rehab program, sorry. As you may know, I told myself that I would buy higher priced stocks. Well, that isn’t happening. I’m the dollar stock dealer, Escobar-style, for goodness sakes. I can’t quit this game just yet.
I banked major coin yesterday, nearly +6%, thanks mostly to my day trades. Just so you know, I am not a primary day trader, however, if I see a stock BTFO intra-day, well then, why should I just sit here and fiddle with my thumbs? I won’t. These moves happen really fast, so you better get on the train before it blows exhaust fumes onto your face.
I could care less about the economy or stock fundamentals. This blog is a place to make money by acting upon great stock picks that move double-digits. This is how I’ve been jacking treasure chests from pirates for over 8 straight weeks. As individuals, you sometimes have to trade unconventionally, automatically putting underperformers to shame, something that the institutions, managing and losing your 401k money, would ever understand.
The market is still range bound, so there is nothing new to add. A breakout above 948 or a breakdown below 923 is technically significant to me. Everything in between is marked as consolidation.
Anyway, here are a few setups. I looked at 400 stocks priced between $10-20 with 500k volume. Make note that these stocks are for people who don’t play dollar stocks or for people who want something more stable in their lives. Make note that most of my setup charts broke out (since I’ve started doing this 2 days ago). Here are more setups to add to the list:

Just started following this site a couple of weeks ago–it’s freaking awesome. Mr. Addict, I’d love to hear your thoughts on gaps. If a stock gaps up strong on higher than average volume and then stalls, is a break down through the gap unlikely because of the strength shown? Or should I still be paying attention to the chart patterns only and ignore gaps? I find gaps a bit confounding.

CTIC has broken it’s 3 month support line, but look what it’s done in 3 months, it’s gone up 30 times it’s value since March, that’s a good run. It’s 50 dma has crossed the 200dma, and it hasn’t touched it’s 50dma since March, this stock is bound to slow down a bit, but if it doesn’t, it’s next major resistance in my opinion is $4.00. If it breaks it’s 50dma I would worry, but if not I would hold on for the ride.

Biotech phase trial primer – basically, I’m personally not interested in a biotech unless it’s deep into phase II and looking good – then they’ll need a lot of coin to get into and past phase III. Obviously if the target market is big there’s a bit more incentive to be onboard I’d think.
Phase 1 trial
A Phase 1 trial tests the best way to give a new treatment, etc. very little human – drug interaction. Very early in the process – years and years away.
Phase 2 trial
A Phase 2 trial is a study to test whether a new treatment has an effect and it’s significance.
Phase 3 trial
A Phase 3 study compares the results of people taking a new treatment with the results of people taking the standard treatment. As many humans as possible involved.

polarpanda – I’m more of a very good monkey rather than an experienced day trader, so I’m in a hybrid state right now – taking the day money being handed out and singling out stuff to keep. Positions small and take money off the table seems to be working well for me the last month.
In the it’s mine for a while category I’ve been pretty clear about ANPI and OCLS – products with enormous markets and OCLS is in over the counter too – but I bought both of those extremely right several times so I’m still way ahead on them although my current load of ANPI sees a touch of red on a day like today.
On to yours; STEM is phase I but has some technology and a some money. CTIC has no money, but has product with a market size is OK. I’ve very little of CTIC remaining having taken my profits a while back. Doesn’t mean I won’t jump on a train if I see it moving. I may be an idiot, but I’m no idiot.
In general I like skin and mucosal delivery systems (who likes a shot), custom / genetic therapy models, stem cells. I mean doesn’t anyone watch star trek here? Science is extreme these days and there will be enormous breakthroughs.
My current biotech portfolio: VICL, MITI, MIPI, ANPI, OCLS, FACT, VVUS, GNBT (who didn’t take a nosh on that lovely snack), recently took profits in SVNT and GNBT. I’ve taken them several times and repurchased ANPI and OCLS. ANPI is one of my biggest holdings at about 5%.

That’s about it CA. I’ve taken bigger bites at times – such as an obvious momentum stock that’s rocketing, and I’ve been using AGQ as kind of a bank – it’s been as high as 6 or 7% at times. When it’s down I buy a bit, when it’s high I cash some out for something tasty. I hadn’t thought it through completely, just a formula that’s been working for a month or so.

Another reason to keep a smattering of biotech in the portfolio – a portion of a micro cap winner biotech hitting phase III. There might be a later second mega-win, the buyout. Big pharma has loads of dough and will be poaching what they can. I can easily see keeping some small pieces of the biotech group (OCLS and ANPI will not zero) in hopes for that payday.
