A Day That 56 Men Declared Our Independence From Tyranny – Time to Do It Again

I desperately love Independence Day. It is a favorite holiday only rivaled in my adoration by the day we recognize the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I love God. I love my country.

Our independence from the tyranny that was England during the colonial days of this great nation is one of the greatest events in world history. Many on the left who have little affinity for this nation try to whitewash the history of the founding of this country. The textbooks that are given to students are a poor historical reference of our founding.

Today we live under another tyranny of our own making. We forget the lessons of our forefathers. Benjamin Franklin doubted we could keep our liberty. Someone asked him after the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 if the founders had given us a monarchy or republic (NOT a FUCKING democracy dammit). He replied, “a Republic, if you can keep it.”

Clearly we could not. The country that our fore fathers gave us is hanging by a thread. We are probably delusional to think that it is even hanging by a thread. Statism from Woodrow Wilson, FDR, LBJ, George W. Bush and Barack Hussein Obama has destroyed anything resembling the country they envisioned. As Thomas Jefferson wrote, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” America, you have proven Mr. Jefferson correct.

Congratulations progressive assholes. You have voted for yourself power and money that will be the downfall of this country. As Alexander Hamilton so ruefully noted, “A fondness for power is implanted, in most men, and it is natural to abuse it, when acquired.” The American government is abusing its power in ways that would infuriate the colonists yet we sit idly by and let the government reign their tyranny on top of us.

Millions of leftists cheer this country’s demise. Fuck all of you. You have shit upon the very memories of the 56 brave and honorable men to whom promised their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor:

John Hancock. Button Gwinnett. Lyman Hall. George Walton. William Hooper. Joseph Hewes. John Penn. Edward Rutledge. Thomas Heyward Jr. Thomas Lynch Jr. Arthur Middleton. Samuel Chase. William Paca. Thomas Stone. Charles Carroll of Carrollton. George Wythe. Richard Henry Lee. Thomas Jefferson. Benjamin Harrison. Thomas Nelson, Jr. Francis Lightfoot Lee. Carter Braxton. Robert Morris. Benjamin Rush. Benjamin Franklin. John Morton. George Clymer. James Smith. George Taylor. James Wilson. George Ross. Caesar Rodney. George Read. Thomas McKean. William Floyd. Philip Livingston. Francis Lewis. Lewis Morris. Richard Stockton. John Witherspoon. Francis Hopkinson. John Hart. Abraham Clark. Josiah Bartlett. William Whipple. Samuel Adams. John Adams. Robert Treat Paine. Elbridge Gerry. Stephen Hopkins. William Ellery. Roger Sherman. Samual Huntington. William Williams. Oliver Wolcott. Matthew Thornton.

These men deserved better than what we have done to this country.

I went for a training ride this morning on my bike. Passing a gentleman arranging his flags at the end of his drive I yelled “happy 4th!” mindful of John Adams, after the Declaration, decree that:

“It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”

November 6 will be our chance to declare our independence from our tyrannical overlord, Obama and his flying monkeys. We won’t be completely free. We still have plenty to fight against in the alphabet soup of government tyranny: IRS, TSA, DHS, EPA, SWAT… The government soup bowl is full of nauseating letters.

I went to church today and was inspired by my priest’s sermon. He gets it. Everybody I came in contact with I reminded them of today by saying “happy 4th.” People responded. It’s still a wonderful day. I will continue the fight against tyrants, communists, progressives, socialists, Marxists and totalitarianism. I stand with many but a rising majority loves free shit and being told by the government what to do. They are freedom chicken-shits.

Independence Day has been perverted by the right and ignored by the left. The right uses it as an excuse to celebrate the military. The left supports tyranny. How can they support our Independence? If left to them they would prefer to lick the King’s boot while he gave them bread and allowed them to attend his circus.

Thomas DiLorenzo said it best, I think, in an article posted on Lew Rockwell:

If Americans ever began celebrating the real meaning of the Declaration of Independence, then they would embrace the Jeffersonian rights of secession and nullification as a means of fighting back against governmental tyranny. They would also withdraw their support for the U.S. government’s aggressive wars of imperialism in the Middle East and elsewhere, along with its hundreds of military bases on every continent on the planet. They might even begin an opposition to being plundered by the incredibly corrupt military/industrial/congressional complex and its main funding sources, the Fed and the income tax.

Happy Independence Day!
