You’re Almost Done Paying the Burden of Government Services for the Year
You’re almost in the clear. Starting July 15 you will be unburdened from having to pay for all the government services that you are now enjoying.
I find it amusing that leftists continue their hysterics for raising taxes. We are in debt, you see, because we do not tax enough. But once you give the leviathan more money, they don’t save. No. They spend more. They will never stop spending. Why on earth would you give them incentive to spend even more?
Would you like to keep working for government spending until August? September? It used to be around May when the burden was lifted. Not with this bunch of Keynesian dipshits.
CNS reports that Americans will have worked over 6 months to pay for government largesse.
This year, Americans have to work until July 15 to pay for the burden of government, more than six months.
In a new report, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) has calculated that Americans will spend a total of 197 days toiling to pay for the cost of government.
“Cost of Government Day is the date of the calendar year on which the average American worker has earned enough gross income to pay off his or her share of the spending and regulatory burden imposed by government at the federal, state and local levels,” reads the report.
The report, Cost of Government Day, shows that Americans will work 88 days to pay for federal spending; 40 days for state and local spending; and 69 days for total regulatory costs.
“From a different perspective, the cost of government makes up 54.0 percent of annual gross domestic product (GDP),” reads the report. “What’s more, the largest tax hike in the nation’s history is scheduled to take place at the end of 2012 unless Congress acts to protect taxpayers. If this tax increase is allowed to hit, COGD [Cost of Government Day] could permanently be pushed back into August and beyond.”
DEA Forgets Pot Smoker in Holding Cell – Daniel Chong Nearly Dies After 4 Days
How incompetent must an American alphabet soup organization be forgetting they had left someone in their prisoner cage? Seems the DEA forgot that student pot smoker Daniel Chong was left in his cell.
The Sun Journal reports:
A college student picked up in a drug sweep in California was never arrested, never charged and should have been released. Instead he was forgotten in a holding cell for four days and says he had to drink his own urine to stay alive…Four days later, agents opened the door on a fluke and found him.
What the hell kind of facility are the DEA using that they could go days without checking on the occupants?
Chong is going to get a big payday courtesy of the U.S. taxpayers and DEA incompetence.
