It’s funny; I’ve never cared for Apple products and wasn’t much interested in following what Jobs was up to. Yet there’s no denying his influence and abilities, and I still feel like I’ve lost out somehow.

Like CT, never been a big Apple fan, mainly because I am averse to being told what is “good” or a “must have” — the kind of dogma referred to in the Stanford speech. Nonetheless, a great force for innovation has left us, much too early.
I am a CRAAPL contrarian myself. That does not detract from my great respect for what that man has given us.

Indeed. I happily gave up my one and only Apple product a couple years ago, the iPhone, in favor of an Android. Not interested in the proprietary arrogance of the Apple brand.
The man was simply too young to pass.
I am happy about this outcome for two reasons:
1) I think Hank is making a stance on principle, even if his comment was a bit extreme.
2) I have always HATED that stupid entry-ditty since they rolled it out 20 years ago.
Now please, don’t ruin it by putting a Faith Hill song in there to replace. Howabout a highlight reel from the week before… or anything but lame, hokey country music?
