The knock-out makes the fighter a star, but there’s a lot of steps leading up to the fatal punch, that money maker. It all starts with foot-work. Ali had the greatest footwork this side of Sugar Ray Robinson, and he defined footwork as a defensive weapon in the famous rope-a-dope strategy, that combined an amorphous passive-aggressive upper body roll with a sly shuffle-dance against the ropes that literally sucked the power from the brutish giant, George Foreman, on that signature humid night in Zaire.
I advocate a similar strategy to assist in absorbing the brutal retaliatory flurries that will inevitably arise from this tidal bull we presently enjoy. Roll with the punches. Bleed some shares if you must — 10%, maybe even 20%. I would not go beyond 30% at this juncture, however. Keeping cash on hand is one thing, keeping too much of the nasty stuff and missing the rocket launch that is coming is another.
I hope this post will be timely, if in fact today’s hesitation leads to something more stomach churning. Most important is that you do not lose your focus while the roller coaster whips you about.
In the end, you must ask yourself the rational question: Has any single component or fact set changed in the paper money destruction thesis? If not, you must carry on to the predictable end.
Hint — We’re not there yet.
EXK, SLW, PAAS, MVG on silver. IAG and ANV and RGLD on gold. AAU and NGD and PGZ are for your higher risk plays. All of these on the expected dips in the next few days.
Pax.

When do I get to see you and @Urbane_Gorilla step into the ring? Are you going to float like a butterfly and go finesse Ali on him? Or go Mike Tyson-in-his-prime?
Neither. I will merely roll his wheelchair to the nearest open manhole and push.

Sprott is a good spokesman for the silver thesis.
Any of you ever worked for Rick Rule before?
Amazingly, Larry Holmes won that fight against Shavers even after the huge right hand.
Jake- enjoyed the video.
One fight I recall from my younger days was a match between Floyd Patterson and Ingemar Johansson.
I remember listening to it on my new AM transistor radio at night.
I was supposed to be sleeping and I recall listening to it under the sheets with a flashlight.
Patterson trained at the old Miami Beach gym with D’amato.
Check out these punches by Patterson at 3:52 and 4:45.

But why did you need a flashlight to listen to the radio under your sheet? Were you skeart?
Trader, Johansson’s foot twitching after the second knockdown is legend. Thanks for posting it. As great as a fighter Ali was I would not include the phantom punch against Liston as a great punch. He hit him, but seriously Liston was flopping around like a seal on the beach. He took a dive.
This one should be inserted in it’s place.

You know, I’d always heard it was a phantom punch (way before my time). But Ali was quick, and I’m not sure that angle didn’t show him connecting like lightning.

Hearns/Duran: We sat down, I got up to get everyone a beer, by the time I got back to my seat, the fight was over! Hands of stone, jaw of glass.
Ahem…is your goatal area feeling a little tingly yet?
Counting your eggs, Chicken Boy?

Yes.
Don’t bother to open a new pack of razors, or don’t bother charging your rechargeable.
I shave by laser beam, Corn Fritter.

Now that’s some twisted marketing.
GOLD should print $ 1500 on Friday this week.
I was up to 30% cash, but then I couldn’t help myself and I bought KGC and GRS, also a couple of little pink slips – U.S. Silver and Silvermex. Well, on Silvermex I don’t think the order went through, yet.
You might want to put the last two on your radar, both have operating mines, and U.S. Silver is a pure silver play. Silvermex is now run by two ex HL guys and apparently some bigwig from Silver Standard Resources is majorly involved, too, like an uncle or something.
Want more EXK, AG and Great Panther, but will wait for big pullback on those.
Jake, do you not like Gammon Gold or Kinross? I never see you mention them.
Added EGO down here around $16 … still waiting on silver (MVG, EXK, FVITF/AG, GPL) for a pullback.
Current Gold Holdings: EGO, AZK, NGD, FRG & PZG
Anybody like OSKFF?
Why are they still a pink sheet, trading at $14.55 or so a share? I mean I do buy pink sheets, I bought Great Panther and First Majestic when they were pink sheets but they were really low dollar.
Does that seem kind of odd to you?
Yes especially now that they are about to become a producer … But GG & KGC have sold their holdings supposedly due to the low grade of their ore … I’d look at RBY before doing any further research here but wanted to see if you guys to the north had something I missed … Thnx
It’s listed on the TSX where it has major volume. I guess they haven’t bothered with the NYSE or AMEX upgrade yet.
THOT – what are your thoughts for holding onto FRG. I was thinking of selling it and dumping proceeds into PZG (pinlezzgrenade?) After the huge run in FRG, figured I might get more action in other places.
I’m holding for the spin-off shares in their other properties (Pilot) … I figured the cash would come through in April and silver shares may be cheap again by then. I’ve been concentrating on gold here for the time being as it is due for a move to regain it’s momentum from the silver trade.
Any thoughts on this little canadian silver miner $GPL. It’s on fire and they just announced news of paying off a big chunk of debt. Potential Multi-Bagger?
GPL is a high-octane vancouver burrito.
A very real candidate for multibaggerdom.
I’m up %100 since I bought it, oh, 15 minutes ago.
But when the party’s over, watch out.
Jake — $MMG — your thoughts or do you know? TraderStewie on Twitter posted … interesting chart.
http://chart.ly/5btks3w
Wouldn’t touch it south of $1.50.
Why get wrapped around the axle on these speculative jobs when there’s plenty of real producers out there?
