`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought —
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
“And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!’
He chortled in his joy.

(Note: Above is actual eye witness report of my Fed Dollar battle today)
Not much to report tonight. A little bit of pullback at midday, but I did indulge in some egregious silver miner [[CDE]] call options (as reported in the earlier thread, I took down 40 Oct. 17.50’s at $2.60) for a lark. I really do think CDE will be a nice hold here for a bit.
IAMGOLD Corporation (USA) [[IAG]] had some run up today (to $14.87!) but then sold off to end the day at $13.40. This stock doesn’t seem to know what to do (it was up again 25 cents in AH), but I would guess it’s going to consolidate along with a bunch of other fast runners here, including even our $HUI index. I still like silver here, as I may have mentioned.
On the non-precious side The Andersons, Inc. [[ANDE]] has broken out over $33 and my next target is $39. Despite all the other rockets popping, this is still my best performing Jackson at +99.6% since our May 1st inception.
Other non PM Jacksons that look strong here are again Thompson Creek Metals Company, Inc. [[TC]] and Teck Cominco Limited (USA) [[TCK]] . Monsanto Company [[MON]] bides its time, but reserves the Hippocratic Oath for now. Other non-PM “hoppers” I like include RTI International Metals, Inc. [[RTI]] , Calgon Carbon Corporation [[CCC]] , Titanium Metals Corporation [[TIE]] and yes, even Alcoa Inc. [[AA]] .
The Jacksonian Portfolio stands at a “mahvelous” 31.4% return for the little more than four months its been in place. I thank you for your patronage.
See y’awl tomorrow.

Whattabout “superamped iBC” — otherwise known as the PPT?
Pennies from heaven.

DXY under $77… looks like UUP will head to the $22 region.
The destruction of the dollar continues apace.
Act accordingly, but with honour (sic).

JAZZ and SAY moving. Added to SAY at 6.76
Can’t believe I missed all that JAZZ.
Will have my SAY, though.
_______
whoops – meant for CA tab Jake – proving my obsession of all that glitters…
Hey, you shouldn’t be afraid to sprinkle a couple of biotech pinless grenades over on this here site, too, y’know.
We like the “barbell strategy” to beat inflation — fast growth stocks and hard money assets.
________
No problem Jake. I’ve written a bit on JAZZ – I love the dominance in neuroscience and great pipeline and products in the market. Cash probably not an issue. If I were big pharma I’d buy them. I’ve (now) just under a 9% position (large for me – except the MOAB I’ve wrapped my arms around).
I definitely swarm with the day trade pack on all kinds of shit, but I have a long term portfolio. This one’s in it – in fact I’ve had it several times but couldn’t help myself and sold it after making a ton on it after big moves at $3, $4, and $7.
NVAX is also on my radar due to their technology and buyout potential. I own it for too much money, but I think it’s due for more pullback.
So is Bernanke supposed to be the bucked tooth demon, then? I’m not going to ask where you found that parody of Alice in Wonderland.
Yes, Bern-YankMe, who doth sloe the dollah, is the above caricatured Jabberwocky, through whose gizzard my vorpel blade goes “snicker-snack.”
And the bucktoothed thing is actually taken from the original Through the Looking Glass/ Alice in Wonderland illustrations.
You can see the more definitive drawing here.
________
Watch ABX.
It’s halted and indication for reopen is a couple of dollars lower.
Don’t know if it will drag other golds lower.
You know they did an offering yes?
________
Hehe, indeed Jake. Barrick ‘offered’ to admit that their gold hedges were a big mistake, despite all their conspiring (just a theory) with the naked shorters. Now they are willing to pay big to get out of that call, at no small expense to their shareholders. But not necessarily to their long-term chagrin. Barrick seems to be betting on massive gold demand. Yet another piece of the puzzle that bodes well for POG, IMO.
One other thing: You been bothering to follow that wacky Northgate Minerals synchronicity thing I mentioned a couple of days ago?
NGX.to @ 2.94 CAD, POG 994 USD as I type this. ( NGX.to was as high as 3.04 CAD today, but POG wasn’t playing along, sending out signals in Wonderland)
Truly, ‘Through the Looking Glass’ stuff.
I wish I could remember to check that…

FTK on a nice little run all of a sudden.
Attention to the Brethren — UPS is “BTFO” over the 38.2% fib this morning (and local resistance) at $54.80…. currently up 2.8% at 55.62.
Next stop, the near term 61.8% fib at Sitty dollars, sitty cent.
You may now Snoopy dance.
__________
mad ups for UPS
Just bot a bunch of PLLL, a stock that regularly kicks my ass, at 2.27 on this recent BO.
As usual, I am down already a couple of pennies, but worth a look.
_______
Yes, but it closed up a couple of pennies, plus a dime.
I bought it after your post. I was looking for another oil stock for the long term, thank you.
Did anyone notice TIE today? That was the noose around the neck of my portfolio and now it looks like it might pay off, having kept it all this time.
My portfolio has never looked so good. It is almost giving me a stomach ache, but I refrained from selling anything, but some gold stocks. I sold the rest of my RBY, because I wanted the profit, and am way too overweight in gold.
The stocks I have in my portfolio now, I would really like to keep for the rest of the year, just let them grow. It is so hard though. I need CA’s handcuffs!
PLM is looking really good to me, and I think it is going to look even better when the DNR releases it’s imjpact study. I think that is all they are waiting on now. There is about four other miners in that complex up in MN and another one I own is Duluth Metals. I don’t know why it has not taken off like PLM has yet. I read it will be a bigger mine than PLM, but seems to stay out of the limelight.
My little MCZ even seems like it is finally getting some buyers. Who knows on that one, though.
It is nice to see everyone, even me, making some money. It’s even harder when you ARE making money to know what to do, isn’t it. Hold or sell, hold or sell… Crazy as that sounds.
Sell down if you can’t sleep at night, but hang on. This freak show ain’t over yet.
