A big congratulations to multiple “Name That Chart” winner, “KenMora” for correctly guessing the mystery chart from my last post.

As Ken noted, the chart a multi-year view of CMP, the rock salt, minerals play.

Specifically, here is what Ken had to say:

Going to move higher through the winter.

I tend to agree with Ken that this is a long idea, logically based on the heavy snow in many parts of the country this winter, as well as the decent technicals.

The takeaway lesson from Ungar’s life, though, is that no matter how talented you may be if you do not practice discipline and fail to grow and learn from your mistakes, you are destined for trouble.

As you watch the documentary, try to apply the story, its lessons and concepts, to trading the markets.

Amid the frenzy in precious metals and miners today, do not forget other commodities such as coffee, corn, and natural gas, all still firming up headed into next week.

On the weekly chart of the natural gas ETF, you are looking to see if $24 now is clearly left in the dust. If so, I expect the breakout to just be getting started here, with a move into the $30’s within shot by the spring.

The thinly-traded cotton ETN, BAL, is also noteworthy.
