Wood,
How do you get market internals in amibroker. there is no ticker which will get you new 52 day high/low, nyse up vol or nuyse down vol.
thanks
Bill
Bill, there are tickers with my data from Norgate. Are you using Norgate? If not, you’ll have to code it yourself. Its pretty easy to code. Let me know.
Wood,
I am not using norgate. How do we code uvol and dvol is the question now.
Bill, it is pretty easy, I think. Tell me specifically what you want to code and I’ll get back to you with some sample stuff, as long as I am able!
Hi,.. Mr. Woodshedder,
i have found a pattern system that supports my trading plan as a beggining trader..known as double bottom.
by volker knapp from bulkowskies web…
My qusetion is since this set-up is profitable 80% of the time over 20 yrs would you consider doing a test for recents trades on this topic? uso, gld,slv and stocks
i am still learning how to do back testing and still learning how to with fxcm Strategy Trader. hard to find the time but. they say it’s the best, thanks, gumby
here are thier status, but don’t include current set-up’s http://thepatternsite.com/DBTradingSetup.html
Gumby, very interesting stuff. That pattern can be coded in AmiBroker, but it will take some work. I’m still working out the High Tight Flag based on Bulkowski’s setup, and I’m beginning backtesting on it first. Once that is worked out, I’ll be glad to take a stab at the Double Bottom.
CURRENCYS
COOL….. LIKE TO SEE THE RESULTS ON DOUBLE BOTTOMS ON SHORTER TIME FRAMES..SAY 2-5 DAYS TIME FRAME RESULTS…
GIVE AMIBROKER CALL..HAVE BUNCH QUESTIONS AS LOOKS LIKE FXCM ONLY BACKTESTS CURRENCYS,
CHEERS, GUMBY
Gumby, Amibroker is great. Check out the website. There are other options, like R, but they are more complicated to learn, imo. AmiBroker is the best for simplicity yet can still perform complicated backtesting.
what’s your method for entry and exit in these HTFs? For example, would you have ignored the initial breakout on TZOO since it was such a large gap up, or sold it because it dropped 8% from breakout, or would you buy it only now that it is at the breakout point?
Derrr, Bulkowski would have you set a buy-stop a little above the flag high to catch the breakout. I’ve been backtesting that. I’m not sure that it is the best. I’m going to look at requiring a close above the flag high, and then buying the next open.
sweet, thanks
Woodshedder,
Do you know of a website that would display a chart/graph of daily option pricing changes?
In other words, a place where I can get a graph of the price of a particular option price as it changes during the day. Or historical pricing charts for the same? For a particular Strike-it would chart the changing of bid or ask through out the day or days.
Any input is very appreciated,
Thanks,
Rudy
Rudy, never heard of such a site, but I’m pretty sure one exists somewhere?
