The Chart Addict vs. Timothy Sykes

Possibly a battle for the history books.

Congrats to iBC’s own Chart Addict, as he is currently ranked 2nd place on Covestor for Risk-Adjusted Returns. Will he overtake Timothy Sykes, knocking him out of his month’s long reign as King of Covestor?

Notice my lowly 23rd place showing. That placement is due to two winning trades actually decreasing my return, according to Covestor. However, I have been hearing rumors that Covestor may be changing their method of calculating returns. More on that later.

For now, stayed tuned to the Battle for Blogger Bragging Rights.

Al, I could be wrong, but I believe Covestor has their system set to where even manual updating is verified to be accurate.

    WOOD,

Here are the rules ……… vary vague ….. for me to truly belive his score I have to see auto ……….

To enable the manual entry process we need view of a recent brokerage statement. This is to allow us to verify your identity and to load you initial holdings. Statements are destroyed post verification and are used only for this purpose. Any other data on the statement that you deem sensitive, such as account number or social security number, feel free to blank out.

The statement uploaded must be in PDF or similar format (e.g. a screenshot of your online account). Depending on your broker these are some examples of where your statement can be found. We cannot accept CSV, XLS or QFX files.

You can also notify us of trades since this last statement and these will also be loaded. As Covestor is about verified activity statements may be periodically requested to validate the data entered using the form.

Al, does seem like the system could be gamed. I’m an honest guy and I just prefer to believe that everyone else conducts themselves the same as I do.

    I just noticed this post.

Genesis Securities is not a broker that is auto supported by Covestor. They are also my institutional broker for my hedge fund. My relationship with them gives me commissions that are $1.50/trade, so I will not be moving any-fucking-where.

The spikers make up the majority of my gains.
