Compared to Aaron Task you are pretty intense Bleier, but engaging to watch. Nice work.
Fantastic job Scott. You should be on the teevee.
Good spot, though I don’t recall anyone ever saying that the stimulus bill would lead to a speedy recovery and economic nirvana. Nobody with half a brain thought that. It was always just about things being LESS awful, and future economists will be left to argue over whether and how much it actually helped. Perhaps unemployment would be 11 or 12% instead of 10% without the stimulus. Maybe.
The oft-repeated argument that high unemployment today ==> the stimulus did absolutely nothing and did not create a single job is moronic, and often politically motivated.
Whether the jobs created/preserved (and how many) were worth the money spent is a very valid question and I don’t know the answer. But that is the honest argument.
When you do this again, consider backing off from the camera and switching to more of a 3/4 view.
As you know and say (“turn your sound down”), you’re an intense guy. Being directly in front of, and close to, the camera magnifies this impression. It produces an “in your face” feeling that distracts the viewer from what you’re saying. It’s a bit over powering.
No bad vibes here – I watch you most days on your stream. I enjoy and learn from your commentary.
Good Luck!
I would prefer if you did a show on your own opinions as opposed to others but otherwise it was intense.
I hate these talking heads who basically babble about nothing and offer no real insight or opinion. SB you should just talk instead of asking them questions.
Good interview questions Scott.
PS I don’t care how rich Paulsen is. I still think he’s wrong about the “recovery”
