WTF?

Jobs
———————————————————

Excuse me, El Presidente? What’djoo say?

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.  The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.  There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own.  I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service.  That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

Absolutely. Fucking. Unbelievable.

Is anyone still out there in IBC-land still making excuses for this Wandering Harlequin Show?

Inquiring (sentient) minds want to know…

Glad to see you’re back in the batting cages JakeGint!

The lad is working hard these days. Give him a break and post a link to a streamed version of Limbaugh’s show. Then Jake can go back to compensated duties and we will still have all his usual commentary and more.

Watch out, bureaucrats dabbling in comedy is not a wise career choice (but, still, chuckles).

DMG says:

Not exactly a bureaucrat, but i’d guess most of the ‘consulting’ he does, is off the gov’t teet.

I’m fascinated by some of the assumptions I’ve seen on IBC about what I do for a living. The truth wouldn’t impress anyone here, but it would reveal that you have created false beliefs on little or no factual evidence.

Don’t you work for BAH?

“Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corporation (Booz Allen Holding), is a provider of management and technology consulting services to the United States government in the defense, intelligence and civil markets. In addition, it provides management and technology consulting services to corporations, institutions, and not-for-profit organizations. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012 (fiscal 2012), it derived 98% of its revenue from services provided to more than 1,200 client organizations across the United States government under more than 5,800 contracts and task orders. During fiscal 2012, it derived 90% of its revenue in fiscal 2012 from engagements, for which it acted as the prime contractor.”

Nah.

And I haven’t ever posted anything that should lead one to believe I do. Perhaps you have another commenter in mind.

DMG says:

No, i saw your linkedin profile.

That’s why i commented on your photo (nice head!) and said that i thought you were older than your mid 30 something yrs.

Reply
ottnott says:

I don’t have a linkedin profile. Is there one under the ottnott name?

I assumed that your comment about my age referred to my iBC avatar photo, which features a then 4-yr old girl who is closely related to me.

Got a theory that the 0 just fucked the tape. Only the most hardened lib will forgive the idiocy. Game changer statement. Communism does not sell well even with the dems.

The new system is somewhat baffling, no?

Sort of like L’Empereur Obama’s economic philosophies?

The IBC nation has been waiting for the senators return(no homo). Good to see you posting again.

Sorry to have been away. Still incredibly buried by work. Big O not helping things, in any way.

Even the left leaning clients (admittedly, a minority) are infuriated by this dense analysis….

Craziest thing I’ve ever heard someone say, let alone the President of the United States.

If I were the Romney campaign, I’d be replaying those comments all the way to the election.

Senator — relieved you have risen from the grave and concurred polio or whatever other affliction Plutonium Petey had attributed your demise to.

Anything to add to the Ag stock discussion?

Grammar nazi chiming in here.

If BHO is guilty of anything, it’s the improper use of a demonstrative pronoun.

We don’t know whether “that” is referring to “roads and bridges” or “your business.” Considering this was a quote from the spoken word and there are dashes indicative of a pause, it could mean that he was referring to the infrastructure buildout that aids businesses in their operations.

Of course, conclusions will be drawn due to political biases.

Reply
Jakegint says:

Who cares to what he’s referring? Everyone enjoys the bridges and roads thanks to the tax dollars they forward to the Fed Gummint (and locals as well). That does not mean that the Fed Gummint is the reason entreprenuers scratch wealth into existence through blood sweat and tears.

And don’t get me started on risk. The guy is just an incompetent, economic illiterate… He’s IN gov’t, so in his sociopathically solipisistic worldview, gov’t is the be all and kernel of all that is good in this country.

Nothing, absolutely NOTHING could be further from the truth.

Senator, a hearty welcome back! I’m glad to know that you’ve not been hopping and spinning like Senor Savage. It sets my mind at ease to know your stance. Thanks for taking the time to put up a new post here:)

Ironically, the graphic you used (Steve Jobs/apple) actually reinforces BHO’s argument. Without the other Steve (Woz), Jobs wouldn’t have had the hardware to market and sell.

Jobs was brilliant at design but still needed someone to actually engineer the product.

Welcome back, Jake! You’ve been missed.

Sterling rhetorical back-up for Obama’s crediting Gummint with every new business and innovation extant.

Obviously, Wozniak was Jobs’s DMV clerk the day he went for his Driver’s Permit, yes?

This is why the Democrats can still snag voters, no matter how exacrable their threadbare Marxist rhetoric… You see, a large sector of the populace suffers from an inability to grasp basic logical concepts.

“It is what it is.”

No post for over a month and all you can come up with is some lame ass rant of a political nature? YOU, Sir, are the REAL clown show here. BTW, I heard that bridge in your burg is closed down again, better get your tools out and get busy on it. I know you don’t want any gummint money going into it.
