Dispatches from the Road

I’m on the road and the wi-fi is weak in this hotel room.  Therefore this will be tres brief.

Frankly, I dunno if it’s time to start climbing back into PM’s with a passion, but my guts says there’s one more shake here before we’re ready to reset.  If I’m wrong, we should know by the dollar’s return to the downtrend relatively quickly.

In the meantime, let’s not forget about our old friend, Mr. Egregious Interest Rates.  I like TBT here as a hedge against Bernankianism, even though it looks like we’re due a bit of a pullback in the next few days.

What’s lucky for us, is we are approaching resistance here, and after a pullback, the buy point should be rather obvious:

A break of that line, or a retest, should be a safe entry on what should become a long term hold for you.

Ciao.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month:

In Flanders fields the poppies blow, between the crosses row on row.
That mark our place, and in the sky the larks so bravely singing, fly.
Scarce heard amid the guns below, we are the Dead,
Short days ago, we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow.
Loved and were loved, and now we lie in Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with foe, to you from failing hands we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high. if ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow in Flanders fields.

I hope I got that near correct, it’s been a long time since I learned it in the 6th grade. In any case thanks to all the vets and those who have served, and given the ultimate sacrifice. We wouldn’t be playing these trivial games in financial markets without their great deeds.

Actually Lt Col John McCrae, Canadian Medical Corps, but I am impressed you know Sassoon. You probably know Wilfred Owen as well.

Sikander is so correct. I am also impressed you know Sassoon.

I spent part of yesterday watching Paschendale for the 3rd time. I had a Grandfather who fought in the trenches in WW-1 and my father was at Dieppe in WW-2. We have no clue as to the horrors they saw.

We all owe a huge debt.

    JG –

On the road myself this week – sitting at my laptop with CNBC on in the background. Cramer was just on and says he has changed his position regarding miners….he specifically stated “you now MUST OWN MINERS” He recommended EGO and another one I missed. Also recommended NG as a speculative play.

    Beginning of the end?
