Five Stocks Celebrating the American Triumph

I look for stocks whose Daily PPT Hybrid Score surges, while the Weekly Hybrid has been negative over the past week. This can often yield stocks which are emerging from consolidations.

Natural gas bulls have made their bed, so to speak, with a coiled up ETF weekly chart, below.

I am still long UGAZ, playing for further upside.

If the bullish pennant (light blue) is going to be a true bullish breakout, you want to see it resolve higher sooner than later and not take too long to get going.

As for SPLK TWTR, they are up to not much today. I will debate what to do with them this afternoon.

Today’s price action in CPFL Energia S.A. (CPL), the Brazilian utility firm with a big yield which I have previously discussed as a long-term investment idea, is very encouraging as it indicates a major higher low could easily now be in place.

After a multiyear downtrend, seeking out the higher low is critical in determining whether a true change in trend is afoot.

On the daily chart, below, you can plainly see the higher low form after a recent consolidation.

Overall, you are talking about a major utility of a growing country, in Brazil, set to host the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in the summer of 2016.

The 5%-plus yield is also attractive, as is the lower beta compared to your standard emerging market plays.

i think you can justify an add here an existing position in the name (which I have, and have done).
