Refiners are currently the 5th rated industry within The PPT. With AMAZING seasonality going into January. I ran a screen looking for refiners of interest. Screen for members here.
Names I came upon are: KIOR, WNR (naturally), DK, and CVI.
WNR and CVI: are the best bets. CVI is the one I am most excited about, but who doesn’t like a WNR that’s ripping it up?
DK: Has a “double top” (no homo) around $26.40-$26.50. If I was a betting man, my money would be on DK to blast through that resistance on it’s merry way to $27 or beyond by mid January.
KIOR: This is a weird one that has been kicked down a mountain. Why? I believe because they are trying to produce renewable fuels, and investors got scared going into the elections. In November when Obama got elected it spiked. Did I mention it has 60% short interest! It’s well off of it’s 52wk high and has decent volume. I like weird stuff.

Any thoughts on ALJ? Looks like a good bet over 14.7.

It looks very promising, but part of the screen was short interest over 10%. ALJ should be great for a push toward $15 in January.
