Just back from the retard-iculously expensive version of Disney’s Broadway Musical — Mary Poppins…
It was really a nice show, and the little Irish girl they’ve got playing Ms. Poppins is top notch.
Highly recommended, despite the seeming incongruity w. red blooded maleness. Then again, there’s a fully stocked bar at the beautiful little New Amsterdam Theater.
That cannot be discounted.
Neither can be the bizzaro back and forth the market has been throwing us these past two days. Calloo callay, what can I say? I can say this:
The North Korean sabre rattling is bullshit.
The Turkey Gods cannot be gainsayed.

Good stuff. Just finished reading a history of that whole late 1840’s period. Amazing how much stuff was going on all at the same time… revolutions in Europe, the Mormon Exodus, the Gold Rush of 1849-1850’s, Procter & Gamble getting their start, the first socialisti commune movements in America (more like cults, actually).
Amazing to think that the mania of the Gold Rush created San Francisco as we know it today, and that there have been similar rushes for “gold” there ever since… the most recent being technology gold.

Kristoff is a loopy lefty, so its good to see him not falling into line with the Eurosnobs on genetic enhancement. The whole Frankenfoods myth — especially when it comes into conflict with an attempt to address world hunger — reminds me of the DDT ban that the envirowack left imposed on the world, and thereby sentenced millions of kids to malarial death in Africa and South America.
I am waiting for the grand irony — when Nurse Bloomberg decides DDT is okay to kill the bedbugs that will soon consume New York, one hotel room at a time.

Jake, I hope you and your family had a nice Thanksgiving:) Do you think it’s time to start adding back into some of the favorite PMs here, despite the Korean situation driving up the dollar? I’m a bit scared here and would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. TIA:)

I think Jake will agree with me that it is not much of the Korean situation driving up the dollar. Instead, the blame (lol) lies on the EU. If the Korea situation were considered important, or if people thought war was a possibility, I believe you’d see a bid in all commodities, as such happens during wartime.
Rather, look at the EU troubles and specifically how the EUR is reacting, versus the dollar (eur/usd) which is putting lots and lots of upward pressure on the dollar
