“Buy Stocks, My Plebs!”
_______________________________
I ran into CH (that’s what I call her, “CH” — we’re buds) at the perfume counter at Bergdorf’s and she said “fugheddaboud the gold and the silver stocks for now, Jake, go out and get you some high beta stocks. Now, ged OUD dah heah!”
That vocal coach has done wonders with her Joisey accent, no?
CREE, VECO, SQM, POWR, TIE and, most of all, ENTR are all on my radar screen for tomorrow.
Slainte.

With that pale skin I bet her chesticles look like river deltas.
Got some TIE yesterday for the aerospace momentum more so than its suggestive premium for which it is selling.
Jake, what ever happened to Caveman trader and TBT over 100?
gold and silver have been my best and easiest performers this year, sometimes even with less than perfect entries.
but what gives you faith in gold still after the ’08 crash?
Spoke w Caveman recently and he is contemplating a job change which could be very interesting. I hope he blogs a about it when the time comes.
Still think TBT is going way higher, just a question of when is bubble going to pop.
As for gold and silver, I like them after the ’08 crash for the same reason I liked them prior– the Fed is artificially proping the economy during a secular bear by devaluing the currency.
That is only more true this week.

I propose making this the default picture for your blog!
Dear ecchymosis,
I wish to let you know that I fully support and stand behind you for the above statement.
Sincerely,
Sluggy
While I don’t think President Jackson would mind (she looks like a nice tawny haired Appalachian lass, after all), I think the Fly-prieter might.
She’ll return, however, at appropriate times, perhaps like our old friend Mr. Paulson (of “Buy the banks, or we’ll kill you,” fame).

Gah, I wish I could do this for a living. I missed entry this morning and didn’t have time to look at stuff until market close. My fav high-beta stock was up by more than 10%. Ridonculous. The convergence of the 50% Fib, and the 20 and 50-day MAs should give the market pause here, and I will base my entry on what happens. Of course, the market will probably break out in one direction, suck everyone in, and promptly reverse itself.
I think you’ll find that “doing this for a living” — unless you are getting a fee for moving other people’s money at the same time like the Fly-prieter — is even more frustrating than missing the occassional rocket launch.
That’s why I stress longer term trends and positions here.
Slow and steady wins the race, and keeps the hair upon your face… and haid.

if it were easy everyone would be doin it.

She is absolutely AMAZING!
this woman doesn’t walk… she floats.
She’s a true American heroine. Helping out all our daughters by destroying a lot of bad body (i.e. “anorectic”) pop cultural imagery, and doing all the guys in America a service at the same time.
I say we put her on the U.S. coinage, a la “Lady Liberty.” Gold and silver only, please.

ah jake,i think i have a couple lady liberty’s i can slip into that slot, homina homina hot damn
I’ll do whatever she says. No question about that.
Dude, she literally is every geek’s dream.
Google her new husband… it’ll make you want to cry for the missed opportunity.

Just checked Jake–clearly an individual who was beaten severely about the head and neck on the school playground. Indeud.
Jake, interesting you mention CREE! I had been following it too. CREE has been standing out like a sore thumb – very heavy unsual selling pressure. I finally decided to give up on this horse today and sold out of it. Do you know what is happening with CREE?
My thesis is that after it got a hold rating a day before or so, money managers are transferring their money from CREE to VECO. Thoughts?
VECO not as much of a pure play. CREE has been somewhat overvalued.
That said, they may just have been waiting for you to sell out before taking it higher.
😉

lol! Major september put activity was going on today for $50 strike price. Plus volume seemed to be selectively heavy during downticks. I hope you are right though. Definitely love this company from a long term pov.
