Yeah, so I’m the last iBC blogger left in the iBC March Madness Tourney. It only took me a couple of years of playing, and losing early to realize that a measured, trending, relatively predictable pick beat out a burning comet every time. In the end, like in life, it’s all about the beta. Hence Cree, Inc. [[CREE]] , a boring, yet utterly predictably fantastic stock that I’ve owned since the low fitties:

Now look at this week’s rival, SanDisk Corporation [[SNDK]] on the weekly chart. Also impressive…
Very impressive, but I think ready for a pullback. In fact, I think both names are ready for a pullback this week and our competition’s result will depend upon which of the two pulls back least. I think the dailies give us a hint on this one. First, SanDisk Corporation [[SNDK]] —
Note the relative fragility of the daily, with all those gaps and the overstetched nature of the recent upmove?
Our friend [[CREE]] is experiencing a similar overstretched period here (over it’s 200 day EMA especially), but I think the chart is a lot more “tight” and predictable. As a result, I think the pullback will be less severe:
Long story short on my take: the tightly wound anal retentives at Cree should squeeze one past the loose-bowelled chip-eaters at Sandisk this week.
Let the shit talking begin. (Oh, that’s right, it ‘s already begun…)

Special Update: My Lou’ville Cardinal Birds are set up as a #9 seed in the East, to play against a soft Cal Bear team (read “Bezerkely hippies”) and then notched to play weak ass #1 seed Puke, er, “Duke.”
Let me say that knocking off Syracuse for the last Freedom Hall game ever was intense and pleasurable, but knocking Duke off it’s ill-gotten #1 seed perch would be a decade-maker. Fellow Duke-haters, please pray for the health of senior guard Jerry Smith. Thank you in advance.

I’d really appreciate it it you could post an update with your thoughts on the PMs. Friday’s action with the dollar finally falling back but PMs shrugging that move off is confusing me. Holding a slew of the usual miners here and wondering…I need some guidance, Jakey:)
We may get a little bit of a pullback towards the end of the week. I’m lightening on some risk positions (long calls), but don’t expect anything too drastic.

It’s a down year, to be sure. But just because UCLA (the only team they’ve heard of East of the Rockies) is “off the charts” bad, it doesn’t mean that the whole conference is terrible. Cal – Louisville will be a very interesting matchup and either of those teams will give fits to the Fakest #1 seed of all time. In fact, the winner of that matchup then has a very easy road to the Elite 8.
UW rolls Marquette and New Mexico. Mark it down. (Probably get smacked by WVU after that, though.)
Doubt that they will get by Marquette, and EXTREMELY unlikely they get by the Lobos.
I agreu with your first contention though, except for the part where you say PAC-10 does not suck. Never mind, UCLA, where is USC this year? No Mayo payday available?
Amazing to see two old greats, UCLA and UNC not even make it in this year… that’s gotta be a very rare event.
Duke is in the pansiest bracket, as usual, to give them an easy ride. I think it’s all about ratings. Half of America loves Duke and the other half hates it, so no matter what, its in CBS’s best interest to keep them playing.
What they did not reckon on, however, is a “heated up” Louisville team that can take anyone when they are hitting on all cylinders.

Good analysis on CREE. I suspect that the stock is overbought here and will pull back to your noted support at $64. If it breaks through that, which it very well can do, I would expect it to head to 55.
Earnings growth is due to slow as inventory starts to rise in the various products that their chips are part of.
So far, SNDK is pulling back less but we shall see….
FWIW — I don’t think CREE will have that second pullback until the summer.

I’ve seen the Maries play…shut down their big man and watch ’em struggle. They won against a horribly unmotivated Zags team in the conference tourney; that’s the only reason they’re in. A shocking #10 seed (higher than UW, Cornell, same as Georgia Tech!).

I just talked with David Gonzalves and Kevin Anderson (spud webb jr.) at Ukrops and they said St. mary’s is in the bag.
I saw the butthole surfers about 6 months ago. I dig the surfers but their live show is really not worth the time, except for people watching the eclectic crowd that they can draw. I spent most of the show wishing the so so opening act would come back on or they would drop the biscuit and do “Who was in my room last night” so I could feel like I got my money’s worth and could get the hell out of there.
Yeah, I gotta imagine the lead singer (Gabby) is in a wheelchair by now. He was getting pretty long in the tooth when Pepper became a hit.

So this is the blog you tell me so much about. I just wanted to come by and say hi to you and your friends. I’m glad you enjoyed dinner last night, I told you I could cook a good meal that was healthy.
Call me and we will reschedule the training session you missed this morning. I have a bunch of new glute work outs using kettle balls that we can try out together to really firm things up.
I went to the local pawn shop and bought a bunch of gold and silver like you said, but they were all out of guns. This economy thing really is a bummer!
