Cheers. Must’ve been nice.
Looks awful bright for ‘dusk’, no?

I didn’t know of this Anthony Weiner guy before, but with a single interview on “Morning Joe”, he may have just become my favorite politician. Like Joe says, even if you disagree with him (which you will), at least he sticks to his point in a clear manner…something that’s sorely lacking in the White-House-institutionalized Obama. It also helps that he’s pretty much read my mind.

cameras can take in more light than teh human eye, know?
Good call.
Probably some overexposure as well.
It’s why I love Picasa, especially the 1-click “Feeling Lucky” feature.
Dpz, at least your boy Oscar Meyer is good at telling jokes .
A shame that the clip cut off his explanation…
Perhaps he meant it from the perspective of the individual taxpayer, who might see an overall reduction in pre-tax deductions from his paycheck? Just a guess. Obviously, regardless of how we proceed, someone/something has to be done about rising costs.
LOL — what do you propose to do about “rising costs?”
__________
Holy crap, that Weiner creep (what a liar — “competition” — why cannot these people speak in real terms w.out lying?) covers Rockaway Beach — my Mom’s hometown!
________
What do I propose?
Get rid of insurance companies & make it a single-payor system to reduce overhead and take the profit equation out of the health of our citizens. Cut spending in areas such as foreign wars & defense. If that’s not enough, raise taxes to cover healthcare deficits.
Why, what do YOU propose?
You spend so much time attacking Obama, et al (and anybody else that may disagree with you) that I don’t think I’ve ever seen you actually propose a solution. Or do you think it’s all kosher as it is?
No, my proposals have been put out here time and time again. I will not bore the more attentive with a repeat, but suffice it to say it includes allowing a true pricing of the system by eliminating the government’s current price fixing role, and by making consumers more sensitive to the actual cost of their care. This will in turn push providers to greater efficiency and specializiation, instead of towards the inefficient pricing model pushed by the gov’t which now produces shortages in important areas like primary care.
In short, I would encourage an expansion of the nascent Health Savings Account system (HSA’s) which would provide for a tax deductable account that could be grown at some $5k cap a year (per family or couple, say) and used in conjunction with a catastrophic insurance plan (ie, “real” insurance) to cover expenses over the limit of the health savings account. Of course, if one started an HSA young, that limit would be high, and cat insurance would be cheaper and cheaper up to a certain point in life when it would start leveling out and then increasing.
Insurance you see, can only work if its used like insurance, and not like a defined payor.
As for your suggestion (single payor), you would doom the world’s healthcare, not just ours, by taking “the evil profit” out of the system.
When will you socialists learn that taking the profit out is always, always, always destructive? It’s like you’ve got some sort of mental occlusion or something.
________
This quote always comes to mind, right after you school one of these silly motherfuggers. It’s not even fair, really.
“An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.”
Jef Mallett
I missed the part where he “schooled” me. Perhaps you’re referring to his thinly veiled and laughable insults at my intelligence and opinions.
Here are some quotes for you Gints:
“Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul.”
-Mark Twain
Or:
“I think we Americans tend to put too high a price on unanimity, as if there were something dangerous and illegitimate about honest differences of opinion honestly expressed by honest men.”
-William Fulbright
And:
“New opinions are always suspected, and usually opposed, without any other reason but because they are not already common.”
-John Locke
You missing where he schooled you further proves your ineptitude.
“Get rid of insurance companies & make it a single-payor system to reduce overhead and take the profit equation out of the health of our citizens. Cut spending in areas such as foreign wars & defense. If that’s not enough, raise taxes to cover healthcare deficits.”
Keep wallowing in the mire of mediocrity, dipshit.
WB Jake.
I enjoyed your Bro’s company last night, as well as taking his money.
lol
I could have phrased that a little better.
To be clear, we played hold ’em….No wait, that sounds funny too.
To be clear, I was gambling with Jake’s brother.
That might be a little better.
Did you win? Did you use a buy the dip strategy?
___
And in other news, massive socialist-policy pushing douchebag Bill “Let them Eat Cake” Gross buys a $23 mm pad, only to turn around and tear it down.
I guess that’s the definition of “limousine liberal.”
____
Welcome back Jake. I guess the battle is rejoined…
Welcome back Jake.
In response to single “payor” not running a huge deficit and providing quality care to all:
Obama also said we would go to the moon again…of course no one knows exactly why we went there in the first place (BTW, NASA says 20 years away minimum, “not sure why we would want to go there anyways”, LOL)…I’m sure it will create green jobs or something. You know, a billion dollar space project that creates a vapor trail the size of the amazon. Maybe they will use biodiesel or an electric spacecraft. Nero would be in awe I’m sure, putting a craft into space all for the glory of the POTUS (as he commands, so shall it be). When are they building the 100 ft. tall Obama statue btw?
“We put a man on the moon, I’m sure we can figure out how to use coal and burn it cleanly.”
-Barack Obama
Writer, Politician, Community Organizer, POTUS, (Not a Scientist)
Thanks for that Doc…
FYI — my wife rented the original “Back to the Future” for the kids… and talk about a hilarious movie to watch 25 years after the fact….
The one thing I noticed was that there was a lot more cursing in movies of the eighties (ostensibly PG), not so much f-bombs as a lot of “Shits” and “Jaysus Christs!” It’s amazing how gratutuitous it seems when coming out of the innocent pre-Parkinson’s MJ Fox’s mouth.
Of course, the kids loved the story, as it was and is a good one.
_________
Hey. Watch it.
I saw that in the theater when my daughter was two years old.
And welcome back.
I’m sure the blueberries and the lobster were at the peak.
Do any hiking on Cadillac Mountain?
We tried for Morse Mountain one day, because it has a beach. But because it is encumbered by marshes, the biting flies were horrendous that day (no breeze) and we were warned off the hike by a kindly forestry man.

WB Jake!
Welcome back Jake.
