I CHARTED ALL 500 SPX CHARTS.
A-to-Q charts on @WeeklyTA, R-to-Z charts on @ChartAddict, because I went over status limit on @WeeklyTA ID.
Observations:
1) More short candidates than anything else.
2) More neutral setups than long setups.
3) Many fakeouts that breakdown back inside consolidation.
4) Many rising wedge breakdowns
5) Many possible pivot points at MA’s for ST long bounce setups.
6) Many stocks still within their rising wedges.

bottom trend line was 9:11 am, 10:47am & 11:25am
top trend line was 10:01am, 11:08am, 11:20am, & 11:30 break out
volume wasn’t really right but the fucker is up 1.20 since that breakout.
I’m involved in so much other stuff today so I had to take the fast trade and it looked like it had a chance at failure anyway.
I had another trendline (top of a channel with a minor sym tri from 11:25am) at 10:01am, 12:06pm, 12:27pm, and a break at 12:37pm for really nice continutation from the earlier rip.
now up almost $2.00 – that was the major trend change for the day…
Thanks. On that 1st downward wedge, would you have played it short had it broken lower, or were you just looking long?
I actually just caught this at the right time – I wasn’t really watching but I saw it a few minutes before and it looked good for a long. The short side had limited potential to me and way too much risk.
Trying to get in at the bottom of a falling wedge (long) can get painful fast but I did it anyway.
I took this one with 4 contracts long knowing I would dump 2 of them at the top of the wedge, locking in some profits for safety. I wanted to hold the other 2 for a rip but I was NOT going to hold below my entry point. With limited time and a chance that it would fail, I cut the 2nd half.
I’d like to say I would have gotten back in when the breakout failure failed at 11:40 using the new upward trendline (11:26 & 11:40) as a stop but I couldn’t so who knows.

crude oil – poss forming rising wedge 1 min chart from 9am
71.52 area is significant – watch for this to be support – was an upper resistance line oing back to 8/26 – we just broke it to the upside today
covering half 71.54 +20 ticks
covered 71.61 for 2nd half
+13 ticks
reversed hard at 71.51 – go figure
the wedge is now a sloppy upward channel
