Ideas for Monday

Having spent 99% of my weekend under a financial rock (aka. sport/March Madness/English Premiership), I don’t really have a good feel for what’s coming next in the markets.

So while I have perused my ‘basket of stocks’ tonight for trade ideas, my trades/actions will largely be determined by pre-market action/sentimentality. This is not hugely different from my usual plan (having pre-market set the tone for the positions that I open), but I may opt for more straddles/strangles tomorrow just to hedge my bets.

I only have 1 open position – [[KCI]] calls – so it would behoove me to put some more of the account balance to work.

Ideas/watched-list are as follows:

  • Bullish reversals off candlesticks:
    • [[AMGN]]
    • [[SWN]] – also has support @ $60.
  • Bearish:
  • Bullish:
    • [[GME]] – support @ $50
    • [[LIFC]] – support ~ $39
  • Other/Volatility:
    • [[CSUN]] – earnings come out Wednesday pre-market. Has been consolidating since huge drop in January; should be ready to move big.

Also, let’s not forget about [[MER]] and the suspicious put activity that’s been going on.  HUGE interest in the Apr 30. Puts!

Arsenal blows it. They had a 5 point lead just a few games ago.

That Eduardo injury marked the end of the campaign. Champions League is the only hope now.

I thought Arsenal played better than chelsea yesterday. Was Frank Lampard even on the pitch?? but Terry, Carvalho, and Drogba won the game, quite fairly.

Arsenal haven’t won in what seems like ages. They had the upper hand for the first 20 minutes, but then it was pretty even. The 2nd half was dominated by Chelsea after Sagna’s goal (who, by the way, has the most ridiculous hair cut of all time: http://arsenalfcblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/bacary-sagna-3.jpg

Frankie was eating hamburgers most of the game…Joe Cole was once again the creative force, although route-1 to Drogba seemed to work just fine. When Anelka was brought on, the Arsenal defense seemed completely unable to handle 2 tall strikers.

The problem with Frank is that unless he’s absolutely terrible, he _has_ to be played. It’s like an unwritten rule. Which is somewhat unfortunate, because when he’s not on his game, we have plenty of excellent options available in Ballack, Essien, Mikel. I’d like to see Sidwell out there more, too.

I still question Grant’s decision, such as leaving Kalou out there (whose specialty is whiffing on kicks) even after we switched to a 4-4-2; where was Malouda to play left midfield??

Carvalho is the man. 78 undefeated!!!

Mikel is crap, in my opinion. Essien and Makelele are way better options. Mikel is a hot headed red card machine.

    Kalou’s whiff kick was unbelievable!

Arsenal’s last win was at the San Siro. the most unlikely win. this was our first loss in ages too, though.
