Five Stocks on Today’s A Team

Courtesy of The PPT algorithm, here are the most current top five readings from my “12631 RELATIVE STRENGTH” custom-made screen, identifying which stocks are exuding some of the best performances to the market at-large at any given moment.

I look for stocks whose Daily PPT Hybrid Score surges, while the Weekly Hybrid has been negative over the past week. This can often yield stocks which are emerging from consolidations.

If you believe the strength in energy stocks is legitimate and sustainable, then it is worth looking down the line at energy infrastructure, construction & engineering firm Foster Wheeler.

On the daily chart below, note the narrowing price pattern within the context of an uptrend. I view a move over $32.50 as a price trigger for a potential upside breakout.

One of my main tells today is how the small caps in the Russell 2000 Index react to testing their 50-day moving average.

On the daily chart, note price is testing it from the underside, after having breached it. If bears truly do have the initiative in a correction here, we should see rejection. A close back over it into the weekend puts shorts in a tough spot.

Elsewhere, I am seeing some oversold momentum leaders try to bounce, but nothing massive is happening yet.

Keep an eye on BBRY over $9.65 as a short squeeze long idea. And gold miners are trying to stabilize as an important support level.

Lockheed is a short idea under $158, as you can see bulls desperately trying to defend that 50-day moving average.

And keep an eye on wheat as a long, in addition to other softs like corn, on strength.
