Thanks. Once I stopped trying to make /ES, /CL, and /6E correlate so closely and just went back to trading pure patterns on /6E my performance improved a lot. I’ll still use the larger supports and resistances in each to give an indication of the movement of the others, but as for the intraday scalps I’ve been doing, they might as well be completely separate.
We’ve had some very odd correlations of late (or lack of). It goes in spurts like that where it looks like all is falling apart – it usually either prefaces a big move in the market or the new correlations become a new norm.
It’s all been USD based over the past few days.
I think you have a little bit of a “hunt for opportunity” where traders are looking all over now to get into something that isn’t so tied to the SPX. Nat gas, gold, and some other commodities had huge gains while the SPX was essentially dead money. Similar to when one penny stock gets stretched, you move to the next one with more upside potential.
I think it’s just the level – it feels overbought. Above 1.4600 bulls are ready to cut fast and scalp shorts are ready to take advantage.
Could go either way though – just look for bulls to start showing more confidence or look for more USD bad news to continue the rally. If we get neither, the recent news will be forgotten and this may unwind hard with downside targets at:

1.4435
1.4350
This is probably where I’m gong next after nat gas gets boring again.
I did, however, short some /OJ when t broke support this morning. It really should have bounced at 81.25 – and in a falling wedge no less!

Today, what a dump in DVAX to clean up a lot of stops. I am watching that one, but hoping for a pullback all the way to 1.80 or so to close the gap completely.

No, I didn’t like the volume on /NG rips so I got out for the day.
I should have taken it short but I moved to /CL and lost on an attempt at a bounce then made some on a short after I realized the H&S was really playing out.
I figured /NG had upside today (not like yesterday of course) but I did respect the potential for a doji. We’ll see what happens Monday – me and my money, I think, are now moving on. Where we go, I do not know.
what software do you use to track the price of NAT GAS?

I also use UNG as a short term tell for the futures (that has worked well lately)
I do believe I’m done with this one for now though – it’s just too volatile for larger positions and I just consider myself lucky that I made out well yesterday and today I got out right before the selloff.

Why would someone who consistently has 100-400% YOY returns in both bear and bull markets, be going to school and blogging on IBC; instead of being the highest paid money manager on the planet?
I’m not doubting the great CA, just skeptical that he has wildly outperformed every documented trader since the dawn of time.
Hypothetically, if CA started with a 10k trading account and reinvested his 400% YOY gains, our dear CA would have a whopping $2,621,440,000 (yes, that’s 2.6 BILLION) at the end of 10 years! I mean, sure, I’m up 390% YTD for the 8th straight year; but 400%…come now.

I’m the guy trying to give a sense of realism to your lemming followers. Odd that you would become so defensive and threatened. I honestly hope you are doing as well as you say, but a logical person would have to question the validity of someone claiming to be the greatest trader of all time. There’s no question that you make many many great calls. And perhaps having 100s of percent returns YOY and 400% YTD is not that uncommon, I just have not heard of it ever being done. If it is in fact being done, kudos – you will go down in history and my face will be red.
A logical, intelligent first-time poster should take the time to review a couple of days of this blog before first-posting garbage.

The DVAX post spike dump is way overblown. The DVAX market cap is insanely low for their existing products, sales and pipeline. I’m in very heavy now with buys at 2.19 – by now I’m used to the profit tax on these biotech rockets, but this one is surprising.

Just read the CA basher post. I think CA works very hard on this stuff and the profits are a result of a job well done. He does not have to take the time to post.
