We’re still within consolidation. The only new things that I can add are:
1) The SPX is now finding support at the 30-day SMA.
2) We are possibly forming a symmetrical triangle.

pooped out of ALXA a bit ago and added it to MITI. Yowser on the OCLS “consolidation” – now that I was way lucky up and down on that one, got to muster courage to buy it again. Something about bulls, bears, and pigs…

reporting that in the first half of May (May 1-15), short interest on the Russell 3,000 stocks dropped to 13.32 billion shares ($253 billion / 2.78% of market cap) from 13.62 billion shares ($260 billion / 2.88% of market cap) on April 30.
There was net short covering in eight of the ten major sectors with Financials and Information Technology receiving the largest short interest outflows of $2.9 billion and $2.0 billion, respectively. The only sectors with net short selling were Energy and Industrials, in which traders opened new short positions valued at $500 million and $169 million, respectively.

@Anton: Yeah, I saw it. I’m glad that my stops on this one were mental, and not on the order book.
Ran up from $1.70-1.75, $1.80-1.85, then $1.75-1.40 (the sell), and then a spike from $1.45-2.21 (the other WTF moment). Whether by accident or by intent, someone cleared out every stop on the downside, and then on the upside.
I can’t tell you why it happened, only that the sale came before the buy.
The only “new” info since those 3 minutes of WTFery is that company’s annual meeting appears to have been today, as there’s an 8-K that was filed with the SEC as of 17:24, after the close. If there’s anything surprising in there, I don’t see it. Either someone farted during the Q&A part of the meeting, or someone screwed up and sold 1M shares when they meant to sell 1K shares, or someone saw something in that 8-K that I didn’t.
