It’s sunny outside, therefore its time to start buying solar stocks.
This is my next rotation idea. I’ll discuss this in depth in After Hours with Option Addict later today with a complete top down analysis.
Thus far, I like $FSLR, $SPWR, $TSL, $VSLR, $JKS and $CSIQ – not in that particular order.
The time frame on this idea will be into July.
Thoughts?

Thank God, I can ask in english this time… do you think there’s more gas in the tank for this week’s $FEYE’s?
I like $FSLR and $SPWR in the solar space and was planning on making $FSLR one of my next positions. However, there are many right now that look very interesting to me.
OA – In addition to my VSLR sighting last Friday, one of the young personal trainers down at the gym confided to me yesterday that he’s quitting, and embarking on a new career as a door to door salesman for SCTY. Solar is everywhere. The government better get with it and figure out how they’re going to tax the sun…
One of my clients does this for VSLR. He kills it.
I stay in contact with a VP over there. They’re absolutely killing it right now.
The Street doesn’t understand their business model
So true.
The charts do all look similar!
What about sune?
I already own, and you can’t touch it here. The last leg will underperform its peers.
I own VSLR. Also picked up June calls in JKS yesterday, looking for a pop to $32-33. Might add to VSLR if I can get myself to book a few winners today and get cash back to reasonable levels.
CSIQ in at 32.29, stop below 30. target 36. Thanks for all the charts

I think FSLR’s chart looks a lot like X right before it’s summer 2014 move.
It’s time for the summer fling, looks like lone solar bull has his panel locked down.
OA, the only thing now that concerns me in the near team with solar is the June 5 OPEC meeting. What are your thoughts on the impact of this meeting?
Solar and oil have traded pretty close together over the past couple years, except for June and July (extra Seasonality). So while I am concerned to the entire oil industry reaction to the June 5 OPEC meeting, I am cautious in any industry that trades alongside it, despite strong seasonality stats. I am long CSIQ, and will hold through, but still appreciate your feedback. Thanks.
What do you think OPEC will say about solar energy?
There has been no correlation between solar and crude this year…I think that bodes well for us here.
I think these guys are treading a little on their own here. Just my opinion though. Won’t change how I manage anything here.
The fact that solar and crude haven’t correlated with each other this year gives me comfort. I take great value in your opinion, and know that you have wonderful intuition and knowledge about sentiment. Your insight and feedback is much appreciated.

I used the ETFs for the lack of time I have in compiling a better chart. Hope that helps.
Not sure how it is in other states but in NYS there is a customer rush to install units before 2016 tax credit expiration. Next one can expect lots of consolidation as weak installers go under.
I remember you had $SLTD on your trash list. I’m up 45% or so. I actually wondered why it was trash since the revenue stream seems to be on a nice trajectory… been planning a long-term hold.
I take a few things into consideration: price, techincals, float, short interest, light fundamentals and liquidity.
Pretty much out of all June paper. Had a great two months here, so I’m taking the rabbit pack on the road to follow the Cubs for a bit.
Enjoy!
Thanks for giving me the keys through After Hours, OA.
I started buying a position in SPWR and FSLR today just because the 8Point3 IPO is coming up next week. Plus, FSLR is trading right around book and has 25% of its market cap in net cash. Glad to see you’re liking it from a technical standpoint.
One thing I was thinking is the whole Hanergy debacle may have created a little bit of forced selling as momentum traders may have bailed on TAN which has SPWR and FSLR as two of its largest holdings. Its probably not a ton b/c that ETF owns about $30-35 Million of FSLR, for example, vs a $5 Billion market cap. But it could have contributed to the recent drop.
Trading action is one thing, on the customer side I just don’t get it. I’d buy some solar cells as a hobby if I had money and time.
Indianapolis has this giant solar farm next to the airport. It may not be sending the message they believe it is.
Right now it’s generating about 3.3 Megawatts. This is doable other ways. 0.5 megawatt generators are all over the place.
Key point is electricity must be used the instant it is made, unless other arrangements are made. The other arrangements add cost and may not be as efficient as burning fuel. Inverters and battery cost should be part of the ROI determination.
Thoughts on UGAZ down here?
Now I like it.
The Vizzler and the Fizzler look pretty bangable from here. SCTY followin’ TSLA around so she already has a man. TAN setup lookin’ good, which means SPWR is totally bangable as well, if you like em TAN that is. I gotta stay away from TSL as I got a case of something nasty last time ’round those parts…
Today was the lowest volume day for $AMZN since 12/24/2014. The next trading day it was up 2%. The low volume day before that was 06/24/2014. The next day it was up 1%.
Tomorrow $AMZN will be up 4%+.
OA – thoughts on BITA here? Looks like it may be basing here ready for another run up? thoughts?
I prefer QIHU or ATHM.
have QIHU already as well. Thanks. gluck

CHL oversold on the OA Oscillator. Looks like a decent spot.. http://i.imgur.com/OgqMbOi.jpg
Regarding Solar, AMRC has been laying panels in non-commercial areas along the Mass Turnpike. Stock has been in multiyear down trend and might be ripe for upside reversal –
