He was a man of conviction who went up against the Establishment. Even the most hate-filled lefties should respect that much.

The establishment? Admittedly I don’t know much about the guy, but was he skewering Bush during his terms in office? If so then I respect that. Because no matter who is in office, Republican or Democrat the establishment is always there.
I guess politics and the media in general just disgust me. They are two professions that prey on people’s emotions, biases and irrationality. The media is there to get a rise out of you. They want an emotional response. In fact, the media gets people so riled up that they wish for someones death! Look at some of the comments on the video above, its disgusting. And some of Breitbarts comments about Ted Kennedy are disgusting too. Ted Kennedy may have been a giant scumbag but to celebrate someones death like that is low. And that’s what the media gives you. They are there to entertain, to try to get viewers just like any tv show. That’s why I find it curious that people portray this guy as some crusader against tyranny.
He was a crusader against the tyranny of the Establishment Left in academia, media and politics.
Was he joining the baying hounds in their groupthink on Bush? Do you think he had to?
No, he was pointing out their myriad hypocrisies and rampant corruption.
Which he did right to the end.
