Got some serendipitous tickets on Friday afternoon, saw it last night. I’m not a big fan of the whole Broadway show thing, but this was exceptional. Great story, great tunes, go see it, you’ll agree.
Highly recommended.

I got asto tickets this weekend, wpuld have rather had air conditioning instead.
I guess the Rastros are no longer playing indoors? That’s gotta cut down on attendance.

Minute Maid Park has one of them new fangled RE-tractorable roofs. It’s been around for a few years now. Perhaps you remember it best under its former / orignal name “Enron Field”.
Those were the days.
Ah, so it’s not all swelter, then?
That is a sweet chalice, btw.
_______
A bit, especially on weekends while the area is under a heat advisory.
Ahhhh, the music of my yooth – Jake, you gotta see more Broadway shows – never saw a bad one!
Uggh. Saw a string of bad ones, back in the early nineties, when the M.D.’s thought they were “compensating you” for 18 hour days in front of a hot Lotus machine by throwing you four tickets, third row center.
The one that sticks with me most was that horrible one they based off the life of Will Rogers. Had one of the Carradine brothers in the starring roll.
Absolutely… fugging… awful.
_______
Aha – I always picked what I wanted to see!
What’s not to like about Broadway? It’s the entertainment choice most preferred by intelligent people.
Right after bowling and three-dimensional chess?
_________
Bowling is a southern sport, most preferred by former pig racers.
Wrong. It is the preferred past-time of 11 out of 12 S.I. residents. The 12th preferring street cannon Coke-bottle plinking by a thin margin.
_________
The greatest Broadway show since “Annie Get Your Gun”. If you want to know how some of Rock & Roll roots developed this is the show for you. So don’t be a shmuck – catch it or just fagetaboutit. You’ll fall in love with Joisey, too.
It’s quite amazing — the whole Joe Pesci connection, ovah theah.
Hand to God, even though I’m a native New Yawkah with “people” from every borough, I never knew anything about Joisey (ie, Newark, Joisey City, Hoboken) being another “Brooklyn Junior” until the Sopranos came out.
I always thought it was just where a bunch of rich bastids lived.
_______
SLW and ANV, etcetera, etcetara…
Doin’ almost as well as a third rate mutula fund, ovah heah. 😉

Jake, I’d like to know what you think of chessnwine’s recent post about inflation vs. deflation.
Can you point to the post?
I think the spike today in TLT will be the end game, personally. Deflation could come again (and likely will come) but not before inflation burns out first.

I think it’s well reasoned:
The bond market will start to reflect the idea that merely a marginal return on capital will be insufficient to keep pace with higher expectations of inflation. When this happens, if the Fed and the federal government do not quickly adjust their policies, we could easily see a very sharp spike in inflation in a short amount of time. If history serves as our guide, the Fed and the federal government are not likely to adjust their policies in a well-timed manner.
The question is where you believe we are in the cycle. He makes mention that gold does better in both inflation and deflation, which is true, but we’ve seen an uptick in all commodities, including silver, wheat, pork bellies (up 63% this year!), etc.

Jake,
At this rate, I’m thinking I should have gone 100% port into the PMS. I’m up about 10% in a little over a month and this after I got the timing all wrong. The only pm that’s down is GLD and when that gets to break even it’s bye bye to be replaced by a miner.
When that happens I’ll submit my positions and ask again for suggestions.
Your help thus far has really paid off!
Thanks!!
Nothing a half-decent PM mutual fund couldn’t have done. 😉
Grazie.

Congrats on “being there” for the right entry, but you know Jake also liked gold when it was higher than it is now.
Now let’s here from the folks who bought MON in the $80s on Jakes reco ….or who bought TBT in the $50s when Jake was getting all wet about the “coming spike in lt rates.”
LOL. Poor troll.
You’re right, I haven’t been 100% correct 100% of the time. Gosh knows how I’ve made MON and TBT the rocks around which I’ve built my portfolio.
Thank goodies I’ve been so conveniently lucky with all those others. 😉

Careful troll, all that nasty is gonna evenutally explode all over you.
Maybe there’s a priest you can talk to?
