Spain Conquers the World Again

Now it’s your turn to conquer the market!

After having a weekend long fiesta of sangria, paella, and Salma Hayek  I was brought to a drunken reality that in order to make it in this market, you have to have at least one or two longs to keep you sane.    My stand on this market is still bearish.  But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a bullish spot.  Tomorrow I will get long these two stocks.  I am also buying as many Spanish jerseys with their first star (for those of you who don’t know, this was Spain’s first World Cup win, which means they finally get a star on their national jersey.  Time to represent!  Brazil has 5 of those stars).   Can you imagine if Torres actually played some soccer?  At least Villa, Puyol, Casillas, Xavi, an Iniesta came to play.

    SPAIN FTW!

Not the best game in term of finishing for either team, but the better team won. Couldn’t believe the breakaway misses on both ends, but I suppose that level of choking in the finals is expected by the Dutch. At least Torres contributed to the goal before getting injured yet again, but ya with him healthy and on his game this tournament would have been a blowout, and assuming he’s all good for the next Euro I don’t see how they can be stopped, especially given that half of Spain’s roster now plays together on Barcelona.

I live in downtown Toronto so there’s enough soccer fans that the celebration in the streets was pretty wild after. How did Hawaii feel about it/did they care at all? I know there’s a growing fan base but none of my US relatives or any of their friends gave a shit.

Spain’s slick passing ball controlling midfield was awesome.
