Trader notes:
This week was not a week to hold anything over two days!  Those days will come, maybe August will give it.  Anyway, nothing really much to say.  It was very choppy this week, and if any stock didn’t take off, I immediately sold them.    There were no real trends set this week, no real winners out there.  Not even energy stocks could muster up a squeeze on the shorts as their gains were limited.  This definitely has been one of the trickiest tapes I’ve seen in a long time.  Keep your positions relatively small, and average in and out when the market starts showing you his cards.

I also managed to sell all my OSTK puts early in the week, after riding the stock down about -40%.  So far, it has bounced up from 13 all the way to 18, so I exited pretty clean.  I’m looking to re-buying options later.

I was a little mad at PCLN since someone decided to upgrade the stock right when it was at 100.  That was well-timed, a nice trap!  Anyway, I’ll be re-shorting when we reach the next resistance point.

July report coming up later!

Gio … nice photo on the beach. I don’t know if you took this shot, but whoever did, got it right. Photography is one of my many hobbies. Kauai is my favorite place to shoot photos in the world.

I look forward to reading your insight and picks in the market.

HI Donny. I wish I took that shot! It’s a tricky shot because of all the lighting, in the sky and the fire. I have a Canon XTi DSLR, what do you use? Photography is one of my hobbies too, I mean, if you don’t have a camera and you live in Hawaii, then you’re taking life for granted. Kauai is very beautiful- it’s the greenest island with a lot of streams. Even Jurassic Park was filmed there. I’ll be sure to post more of the pictures that I take whenever I get a good one. Do you have a site where you feature your pictures? Maybe you can lend me some Hawaii shots so I can post them here.

Hey Z… yeah, I saw dealsAddict stop by. I sold GG at the top 2 weeks ago above 50

Thinking about getting long, but watch the gold commodity 1st, its in a correction. I use gold as a hedge against a falling market.

Z… I’m not going against you… I have an entry point above 37. I just didn’t like the way it sold off last Wed-Friday. The good thing though… it didn’t fall that much despite a “surprise loss” earnings report! That was a punch to the nut for the bears. But anyway, anything can happen so I’d feel more comfortable if it bounces off that support around 35.

Gold is still a great play against a falling dollar.

Someone asked me about HK a couple days ago. I forgot who. Anyway, I’m still holding. The key here is to watch USO. It’s at that elusive 100 spot, and I would like to see it get back to 109 before adding to HK. Hope that helps… whoever you are.

Gio … I shoot a Nikon D40 and a Nikon D300. The D40 is almost on par with the D300, and cost 1/4 the price. I use the D40 a lot more … mainly because it’s lighter when I’m running around The O.C. taking photos of my family. When I go somewhere special, it’s the D300.

I don’t have a personal website yet, but I’m certain one will come.
