The bears finally got a taste of the forbidden fruit this week, in terms of actually causing some noise which did not make the bulls laugh in their faces.
But, let’s be honest, considering how far the market has come in 2013, the selling this week was barely an appetizer. However, slowing upside momentum underneath the surface in the tape finally began to show itself on the major averages, even though no real major damage has been inflicted yet. But as I noted on my video market recap for Thursday, we are indeed walking through a tougher neighborhood now where breakout plays are fewer and far trickier to ride.
In terms of preparation for traders going forward, there will need to be actionable trading ideas, focused and cogent broad market issue coverage and analysis, not to mention educational material.
