Here are two rather heavily-shorted stocks that are pretty much off everyone’s radar. They both trade on the thin side in terms of volume, so use care with market orders and definitely be sure the price action is working in your favor via the triggers noted below.
The reason to even consider these plays is because we are at the stage in the broad market rally where anything that can go for a short squeeze, likely will. The main thing to remember is that the music eventually stops, if only for a sharp reset.
But, obviously, no one wants to get caught without a chair and with an empty bag.
As a result, you will note that both charts are technically-sound, with price basing rather tightly above rising and properly aligned moving averages. Those characteristics serve to slightly increase the odds of the trade working well. But again, look for those price triggers as well as the broad market continuing to permit these types of plays to work.
