Saturday Night at Chess Cinemas

One of my favorite roles played by the great actor Robert De Niro was somewhat against type, in the sense that in Backdraft (1991) he played a more cerebral supporting role as an arson investigator. The main roles are two firefighter brothers, played by Kurt Russell and Billy Baldwin. The film follows the brothers who, despite their sibling rivalry, must work together to find a dangerous arsonist on the loose in Chicago, amidst corruption all around them.

“King of Comedy” = DeNiro’s best role, IMHO.

I agree Awesome role. Also liked him in Heat, though the movie didn’t keep up it’s energy he was great. I could imagine his character in Heat as a great trader too, very informed, cool head, big action.

Thanks for continuing to give us movie ideas, Chess. Can you add a category to your blog just for SN@CC though (retroactive too?)?
